"What's the matter?" Lindsey was holding her firmly in his arms as she tried to fight her way out and back to the room.
"I can't go out there, I'm not ready," she complained. She wasn't prepared for the voices and she knew it would make herself look insane in front of him.
"What?" he creased a brow.
"Tie her to the bed," demanded another male's voice.
"No, leave her," Lindsey yelled. He was totally unprepared for those people.
"Buckingham, you're too soft for this. You can't just not medicate. She's ill," said the other doctor.
The nurses took Stevie away from Lindsey and she was out of his reach. Stevie was fighting on the restraint gurney.
"Stop them, right now, Warner!" Lindsey demanded the other doctor.
"You are in no position to make demands," the older man answered.
"What are you even doing here?"
"I thought you would have left by this time. I came to check on the patients. Luckily I did---otherwise that one wouldn't have gotten tamed," he chuckled.
"It's not funny," Lindsey snapped. "You can't just medicate. She was only having an anxiety attack. It's normal for a person. All she needed was comfort, not restraint," he ran down the hallway, trying to the room, he had known that doctor to use the most.
"Doctor, is something wrong?" Maggie asked---full of fear.
"It's Stevie, I'll need help in a minute," he never stopped---giving her, her information as he ran.
He bursted through the door to stop the nurses before they did anything to Stevie. "Leave her! all of you, get out," he ordered the nurses and gestured to the door.
"But sir--"
"Out!" he yelled once more before turning to Stevie. "Play it off," he whispered in her ear.
She kind of nodded, just trying to fall asleep for her own sake. When they taken her through the hall it was a gruesome pain, shooting through her head. Her arms were tied so she couldn't even alleviate the pain with her hands.
Doctor Warner entered the room, anger written all over. "Buckingham, if you--"
"She's out!" he replied. "I wasn't going to let the nurses shock her---there's no need. But then again if you had real feelings, you'd know that. I will handle her---if you lay one finger on her---I will kill you," he said quietly to the man.
"You don't have the balls," he whispered ruthlessly in return.
"Just because, you did it to me too. I will not stand for this in my building. Get out of here," he walked back to Stevie.
Warner left, soon after.
Lindsey started to unstrap Stevie from the bed. He had to wait till after the other doctor left. "Are you okay?" he asked, swiping her straight, blonde tresses.
"I'm kind of okay," she sat up and held her hand to her head.
"Headache?" he asked---pressing his hand to her back.
"Kind of," she let out a breath. It was starting to settle. "It's hard for me to prepare before going out in the halls."
"How so?" he asked.
"It is like a shock of pain that I feel when I enter. There are too many people suffering. They are in pain and some are worried."
"How do you sense that?"
