The whole morning consisted of Stevie and the baby, bonding. She was wide awake and she couldn't sleep, thinking of everything. Not only did she feel normal but all of her gifts seemed to have shifted back into her body. She was so at ease with the newborn in her arms. She was also so happy, feeling the presence of Solan in the room. Halloween offered so much less stress. She felt at home during Halloween and fall time.
Lindsey was lingering in and out all throughout the hospital. He had called all of Stevie's family prior to her delivering. Lori and Christopher were on their way. Since it was still so early, Barbara and Jess would come a little later and bring Jessica.
Stevie was thankful that at least her brother and sister would manage to come. She loved that her baby was born in the early dark morning. It made her birth even more mystical and exciting. Halloween just made it perfect.
"You should rest for a bit." Lindsey stood in the doorframe, watching Stevie with their newly born child.
His voice filled her ears. She looked up at him and smiled. She was a little too enticed to sleep at the moment, but she knew it would probably be the best thing. She was tired, but really in love. "I'm trying," she assured.
He smiled back as he neared the bed. He loved watching her at the moment, her knees pulled to her chest, but enough for the baby to lay right in the middle. Her hands were just holding the tiny baby in place and examining every inch. He could tell she was so in love. "I bet you are," he chuckled lightly as he went to seat himself on the bed.
"She's so perfect, Lindsey---" she looked up to see him gazing down at their daughter. She was pure divinity and innocence.
"She is..." he nodded assuredly. He couldn't agree more---Eve seemed to be the air they breathed at the moment. Her name was fitting for all of the situations they had gone through. "So many things are radiating off of her---it's amazing."
"I know... I can't wait for a second---her blessing is gonna make this even better."
"I had this little idea..." he mentioned to her.
"What's that?" she looked up. Her voice was soft and husky sounding as it had always been. But right now it was like her innocence was back. She was carefree, like a teenager.
"Well, the day of the blessing... would you want to get married?"
She kind of let off a shy laugh. She wasn't expecting that kind of offer. She thought it was a beautiful idea. "Of course---Talia can officiate."
"Private is what you want?" he asked her. He wanted to make sure that was what she would have wanted.
"I think the issue was, Rick and I had everything. It was all to the public and we loved. We loved the attention surrounding us. We loved the publicity he got as a liar- lawyer. And to go with that, his criminal activity was not set private... Privacy is all I want and all she deserves. What we do, shouldn't be her concern. I don't want the world knowing our business, even if that world is just family."
"I understand and I am so happy you agreed with that idea. I can't wait for more to come with us. I want this to be peaceful for us."
"That's all I want, too."
Within the next few minutes, there was a gentle knock on the door.
Lindsey got up and opened it. Their baby girl was resting serenely and so they didn't want to yell. He opened it and smiled at the red head.
"Hi," Stevie whispered.
"Awe, Stevie, she is so precious---" Lori entered and squealed quietly.
