Ross: "When am I going to meet your parents, babe?" Ross asks you one night at dinner, peering at you with his puppy dog brown eyes from across the dining room table. You always feared he'd ask this, only because he wouldn't be able to meet both of your parents. This was only because your dad left you and your mom when you were 13. "I'm not sure..." You answer warily, not wanting to tell your boyfriend about your dad. "Oh... Do you not want me to meet them, (Y/N)?" A hurt expression washes across Ross' face. "No, no, of course I want you to! It's just that..." You trail off. "Just that... You won't be meeting my dad." Ross stares at you for a minute, then finally says, "Is he...?" "No," you say quietly. "He left when I was 13." You look down at your plate, not wanting to meet Ross' eyes. You hear Ross take in a breath, then his chair sliding out. You suddenly feel arms around you and a body replacing yours in your chair. You realize Ross had put you in his lap. "I'm so sorry, baby," he whispers. "No, it's al-" You start, but Ross stops you. "No it isn't, (Y/N). Do you wanna talk about it?" Ross still speaks softly. When you don't answer, Ross says, "We don't have to. Don't worry, I'll always be here for you, (Y/N)."
Riker: You and Riker have been dating for almost a year now, and you thought it was time for him to know about your mom. She left you and your siblings after your father passed away when you were 10. "Rike... Can we talk?" You ask your boyfriend who's eyes were glued to the TV. He immediately turns at you, turning the TV off. "Yeah, what's up?" He says, gesturing for you to sit beside him on the couch. You sit beside him, fiddling with your fingers nervously. "I wanted to talk to you because..." You start off weakly. "You know how you've only ever seen my sister and brother, and not my parents?" Riker nods, eyes trained on you, never leaving their spot. "Well... That's because I don't have any." You finish. Riker's eyes fill with confusion, but he stays silent. "Did they...?" He finally asks hesitantly. "Well, yes and no. My dad did when I was about eight. My mom left after he passed." You look down, still fiddling with your fingers nervously. "Oh," he says quietly, bringing you into his warm embrace. "Is that why you acted nervous around your siblings when I was there?" "Yea," you say quietly. "I'm sorry, I should've told-" "No, no, shh babe. It's alright." Riker gently rubs your back in soothing circles.
Rocky: You had been living with the Lynches for as long as you can remember, because they've always been close family friends, and your parents had passed away in a car accident when you were about 3. You were now with Rocky, and you haven't told him about this yet. Only Stormie, Mark, and yourself know. "Kids, we have something to tell you," Stormie announces one night at dinner, making you start to feel nervous about how they'll react. Rocky notices, and starts to rub your back soothingly. "As you know, (Y/N)'s been with us for numerous years," she starts. "The reason, is because... Her parents had passed away in a car accident." She says the last part quieter as you feel tears filling your eyes. You feel Rocky's eyes on you, so you look up at him. "I'm so sorry, babe," he whispers, bringing you into his arms as your tears fall down your cheeks. "Shh, it's okay, I'm here." He coos quietly in your ear as everyone else says their condolences.
Ellington: When you were young, your parents put you up for adoption. And in the foster care, going through different families, you've had some pretty bad carers. Some of them abusive, some of them just didn't care and neglected you. Now you're with parents you were pretty nice. "Your parents seem nice," Ell comments as you drive back to your shared place from your parents' house. You nod, making him turn toward you at a red light. "What's up? Is something wrong?" You bite your lip nervously. "Well," you start. "They're not my real parents. I'm adopted." He stays silent for a minute. "Would it be okay if I asked what happened to your real parents?" He starts to drive again, but awaits on your answer. "All I know is that they're somewhere, but I have no idea where." "Oh," he mumbles. "It's okay, okay? And I know if we ever had kids, we'd never leave them."
Ryland: "Why are you always like this?!" Ryland yells at you. You two were in a heated argument, and he just wouldn't let up. "I'm not always like anything! It's a fact, and you just don't want to accept it!" You return a yell. "MAYBE THIS IS WHY YOUR DAD LEFT YOU!" He screams now and tears fill your eyes. He knew what the situation with your dad was, and by the look on his face, he knew he went too far. "(Y/N), babe, I-" "No, Ry - don't talk." You harshly whisper interrupting him. "Did you really mean that?" You ask quietly after awhile. "You know I didn't," he hugs you. "I'm sorry. I love you."
