On Wednesday, I got my Marching Band stuff!! Well, not all of it. I still have mixed feelings, but I'm still very excited!! Here's the details you need to know, okay?

I'm going to be a Junior this year, and this will be my first year in Marching band. I originally auditioned to be in Drumline, but I didn't make it, and I was put in Front Ensemble, aka Pit. Anyone could join Pit. Seriously. The Front Ensemble normally includes instruments such as Marimba, Xylophone, Bells, (Pretty much any instrument that needs Mallets), Suspended Cymbal, and the small things like the Tambourine and Cowbell. OUR Marching Band Pit also has an Electric Bass.

Following along? Yes? Good. No? Well... Look it up. Haha.

Now that you know what section of the Marching Band I'm in, now to tell you about the show. Aside from the normal School Song that our (old) director made for us, there's the Halftime show at the Football Games that we perform in. Every year we have a theme. Last year, when I went to every football game just to see the band, the theme was One Hit Wonders. Old songs such as Tainted Love, and Funky Town were included.

THIS year, the theme is The Blues Brothers! The order goes as follows: Can't Turn You Loose, Soul Man, Shake a Tail Feather, Minnie the Moocher, Think/Can't Turn You Loose (Reprise).

Now, back to Wednesday. On that lovely day, I was given my music! I'm excited! I get 2 'easy' instruments that I already knew how to play from observation, and one incredibly hard instrument since I have to learn almost everything I need to know for it. The easy instruments? The Tambourine and the Suspended Cymbal. I learned how to play the Tambourine in Elementary school, and I've been watching and listening to how the cymbal is played for the past 2 years. No biggie. The hard instrument? The Marimba. For those who have no clue what that is, it's a mallet instrument. Think of a Xylophone. It's like that... Just different. I don't know how to explain it. But the reason why it's so hard for me is that I have to re-learn the Treble Clef. (Since I'm used to the Bass Clef) I learned it in Elementary school, but it was replaced with the bass clef when I started playing the Bass. The number one reason why this is a hard instrument is that I new to learn which notes are what. And playing double notes. Arrg!!!

So in order to help me to learn the Marimba, David let me borrow his Bell set. Which is a mallet instrument too. The notes are all the same, like a piano, but the tune and effects are different.

Okay, now that you know details.... I can finally go on with my days.

On Wednesday, I woke up around 1:30 in the afternoon. At about 2, I biked 2 miles to my school with a bag on my back, to get music for Marching Band. When I got there, I secured my bike with a shoelace and a lock. I'm that talented. When I came in, I talked to Mr. Broccoli. (If you don't remember, that's what I'm calling the new band director). I was talking about random details and such, when David ran into the room and tackled me. Well, not literally, but he ran full speed at me and hugged me with force. Broccoli laughed.

So after reviewing my music outside for about 20 minutes, mostly so I can rest my lungs from the bike ride, I went home. I biked another 2 miles. I was DONE with exercise. Libby came over, and watched some Ghost Adventures. She helped me with the treble clef, and I was texting David about it. He eventually came over, and he brought his Bells. We went to my room around 9pm and watched one of David and I's favorite plays, 'Kiss Me Kate!', til 10pm. They then left.

On Thursday,...yesterday..., Collin and I cleaned the house for mom. And around 5:45pm David picked me up to go to an event. The event was to say a Final Farewell to our old director and an Official Welcome to our new director. It was pretty fun. There was one moment however, where David, and my friend Chrissy were trying to make Them,Eric, and I to group hug. Eric and I resisted, which resulted in our foreheads whacking each other.

ERIC HAS A HARD HEAD MADE OF TITANIUM. It hurt me so badly, and it barely even fazed him. I got a red lump. Can I say ow???

Afterwards, David and I were one of the last ones to leave, at 10:50, and we went to Taco Bell at 11pm. We ate, and I had his leftovers. Then I wanted a shake and fries from McDonalds. So we got that. And on the ride home, I was responding to radio commercials so PERVERTEDLY that David had to turn it off. He was so surprised that he thought I was horny. Which I wasn't. That's how perverted I got, it was so funny. After talking and jamming to music for a long time in his car, he left, and Collin and I stayed up for a few more hours playing games. (Extra entry will be added later)

And FINALLY, today. Today was pretty uneventful. Mom and I went out to copy billions of files for Johns mental health. Because his family needed that or something. Files of one who passed away, yeah. And I had to go in and re-highlight some files. And re-write some that weren't fully copied.

---

That was my pass 3 days. Pretty jammed. No reason to NOT update, except for the fact that I was gaming with my brother until I passed out. YAY.

Keep Smiling!
