"Oh! No, I'm not actually planning to drink first. I was just wondering if it's okay that I sit here until a hot blonde walks in?"

A- a hot blonde?

or: jimin witnesses a type of love he only thought exists in story books

~

Being a bartender as a college student wasn't the best thing in the world. But it still had its perks.

For one, Jimin learned how to make all these fancy and pretty drinks that he can show off to his boyfriend, Yoongi, at home. And two, he's a people person and he really enjoys talking to strangers and learning about what caused them to come to the bar today. Every story was interesting to Jimin, whether it was a vague explanation usually along the lines of "I just needed a drink," or a captivating and detailed answer of what lead them to his (well, the owners) bar. It was all so fascinating to Jimin.

And yeah, he may have had some inappropriate customers here and there. But the security hired at the bar are insanely good at their job, and he's close with the head, Namjoon. The man became very protective of his young and petite friend, so Jimin knows that he is protected the entire eight hours he works.

He works comfortably and happily until it's nine o'clock, still considerably early. Crowds don't usually come in 'till eleven, so Jimin is relaxed as he cleans the bar for what feels like the hundredth time today. He's circling the rag across the counter when he hears a chair screech across the floor, someone flopping down in front of Jimin as he cleans.

Jimin looks up to find a young man with tousled red hair sitting on the chair, eyes wide as he looks around the bar and lips set in a natural pout. The man seems young, with a little bit of fat making his cheeks round, and Jimin looks him up and down as he tries to decide if he's over twenty-one. The man, or boy, must feel his gaze cause he turns his eyes to meet Jimin's, tanned cheeks blushing red.

Jimin, not one to shy away from strangers, continues to stare the red-head down, eyeing the child-like innocence in his eyes and then the conflicting structure of his body. Dammit, he's usually a pro at these things- but he can't figure this boy out.

Jimins not the type to risk his job, and he doesn't want to get fired for accidentally giving a minor alcohol, so he decides to be safe and ask for an i.d.

The boy's eyes widen even more, and Jimin can admit he's cute. He almost makes Jimin want to coo because Jimin is a sucker for all cute and innocent things, and this boy just screams cute and innocent.

"I'm over twenty-one! Well, technically not over, I actually just turned twenty-one today and wanted to come celebrate, but here's my i.d if you, well, if you need it. Which you obviously do since you just asked for it but.. yeah.." Now Jimin is really about to burst from how adorable this boy is. He giggles at the response and the boy, Jeongguk, from what his driver license tells him, flushed a even more vibrant red than he had before.

"You're cute, Jeonggukie," Jimin laughs, and he slides back the kids i.d. Yes, kid, because Jimin is twenty-three and this kid is still in college, so Jimin considers himself the adult in this situation.

Jungkook smiles shyly. "Thank you?"

Silence ensues as Jimin awaits an order, and watches, bemused, as Jeongguk looks around the bar for the nth time. He's tapping his fingernails against the bar, and blinks as he catches Jimin's awaiting gaze. Jeongguk tilts his head in question. Jimin sighs.

"Did you want to order.. or?" He asks. Jeongguk jerks and shakes his head.

"Oh! No, I'm not actually planning to drink first. I was just wondering if it's okay that I sit here until a hot blonde walks in?"
