namtaekook
basically pilot Jeongguk and barista Taehyung who's been pining on each other for a very long time and they decide to take their flirting to a whole new level - and country.
----
Taehyung sighs, the departure hall is eerily empty. The flights are unusually slow tonight and Taehyung's bored out of his mind. Why he agreed to do a night shift at an airport, he doesn't know. He unlocks his phone, greeted by a picture of Park Seojoon set as his lock screen and he lets out another sigh because it's 3 a.m. and it means that he has another 3 hours till his shift ends.
He pauses his anime as he sees people make their way to the departure hall, looking tired probably from the jetlag. He sees a lot of bored faces, and it bores him too. A fit of giggles can be heard from the air hostesses and Taehyung lets out an envious sigh. It has always been a dream of his, to become a cabin crew, to have a job which requires you to travel the world. Yet here he is, in charge of making coffee for sleep deprived, cranky pilots, travellers and flight attendants.
Taehyung's met a lot of handsome pilots in his career. But there's only one boy who owns his entire heart. There's only one pilot, and he is his favourite one.
"Captain Jeon," he whispers as he sees the boy walk alongside his colleagues. Jeongguk yawns, making Taehyung laugh endearingly. His eyes land on the Starbucks logo and almost immediately, Jeongguk's fatigue seem to wash down as his eyes meet the barista's own. Taehyung gives him a wide smile. The kind that makes you feel at ease, the kind that makes Jeongguk's heart race. Not that he minds.
Jeongguk tries his best to replace the scowl on his face with a smile but he must be failing because Taehyung is pouting. And Taehyung only pouts when Jeongguk isn't smiling.
"Why the sour face Captain Jeon?" God, the way Jeongguk just wants to grab Taehyung's face and kiss the pout away from his face right then and there. "Long flight?"
"Almost 20 hours, yeah," Jeongguk replies, his voice came out as a mumble. "The usual please, Tae."
"Coming your way, hyung!"
Jeongguk smiles shyly, the younger's excitement whenever it comes to him always leaves a blush on his face. Taehyung makes a green tea cream frappe, and he makes sure to leave cute notes on Jeongguk's cup. Like he always does for the last few months. And maybe Jeongguk keeps all the cups that Taehyung gives him, but Taehyung doesn't have to know that. He hands Jeongguk his cup with a big smile, as usual, and Jeongguk immediately looks for a note and just as he expected, there it is, on his cup, a short note written in the neatest handwriting.
"Don't frown, hyungie! It makes you less cute. Smile more or else I'll force it on u!"
"You'll force it on me?" Jeongguk asks as soon as Taehyung's done cleaning his station. "What does it mean?"
Taehyung lets out a soft chuckle, adjusting his apron. "I really don't like seeing you frown so by forcing I mean I'll try my best to put a smile on your face."
Jeongguk raises his brow, intrigued. "How do you suppose you do that?"
"Well Captain Jeon," Taehyung starts, putting both his hands on his hips. "If you must know, my charm is making people smile."
"It's not shocking." Jeongguk smiles. "So, tell me, how will you make this hyung smile after his long, long flight?"
Taehyung swallows, heart thumping in his chest. Jeongguk's tone is teasing. Really teasing and it's not helping because the elder's voice is practically growling from the lack of sleep. "Well first of all, you should take me to one of your flights. I make the really good company." Taehyung beams. "If you're ever tired, I could just make my way into the cockpit and crack a joke."
