Taehyung lies to his sister that's he's got himself a boyfriend, in attempt to satisfy her.

When he finds out she's coming in town, he's gotta think of something, fast.

So he turns to his best friend, Jungkook, to pretend to be his boyfriend while his sister is in town.

Nothing awkward about that, right?

(Aka: Jungkook catches feelings for Taehyung and doesn't know how to handle it)

---

Taehyung and Jungkook were best friends for about as long as the latter was in diapers. Their parents were really close to one another, so it was only fate for Taehyung and Jungkook to have to see each other constantly. Sure, when Taehyung was an edgy elementary schooler he tried to push little Jungkook away, but for some reason, the starry-eyed, bunny toothed boy grew on him. Jungkook was desperate for attention when he was little, contrasting to how he aged up to be introverted and socially awkward.

Taehyung broke Jungkook out of his introvertedness, teaching him to be open in his expression, physically and verbally. Jungkook used to be terrified of wearing anything that didn't cover every centimeter of skin, but after being friends with Taehyung for so long, he's more comfortable with showing his body. Jungkook also had a period of time where he was almost mute, terrified of the idea of talking to anyone or meeting anyone new. The poor kid couldn't even talk to Taehyung without being a stuttering mess. Again, Taehyung eased him out of this, constantly talking to him and breaking down his walls. Now, Jungkook basically walks around half naked and screaming at the top of his lungs on the daily.

If it wasn't obvious, the two men were roommates. They lived in a one-bedroom apartment with a small kitchen and living area. They had two separate beds in their shared room (because, you know, no homo bro), but besides that it was spacious and comfortable enough for the two of them. The complex was towards the busy streets of Seoul, which made it easy for them to both get to work via bus stops or walking.

The two of them knew literally everything about each other: their sleep schedules, eating habits, family life, their hobbies and skills, etcetera. There wasn't much secrecy to be had in their friendship, so they were frequently honest to one another. Maybe, a little too honest in Jungkook's personal opinion, but it was better than lying consistently.

However, though Taehyung was honest to his best friend, this did not implicate his honesty towards his relatives. More specifically, his little sister, Eonjin.

Eonjin was a college student back in Taehyung's town, Daegu, who loved to constantly check in on Taehyung to make sure his life was fine, or whatever. More specifically, she loved to pester him about his love life. Taehyung was bisexual, she knew this, so she wasn't picky over whether it was a girlfriend or boyfriend, but she just wanted him to be with someone. Why, you may ask?

Nobody really understands, don't even bother asking Taehyung.

Taehyung was tired of the constant questioning, so one day, the familiar ringing of his phone brought him into a conversation with none other than Eonjin herself. She asked the usual of how is work, or how is Jungkook doing, yada yada. But the thing Taehyung was tapping his fingers on the dining room table for (if it could be called a dining room) was in waiting of the signature Do You Have a Boyfriend or Girlfriend™ question.

As expected, she asked, because she wasn't very unique from phone conversation to phone conversation.

He said yes, you know, like a liar.

He said he was holding a relationship with a younger man, not too serious though, that they just went on a few dates and shared a fair share or skinship. He assumed there was nothing wrong with this sort of statement, because it's not like he was going to have to prove it. Even if he did have to prove it, he could prove it via text and fake pictures of the alleged boyfriend that he snatched from Google images. So he lied with so much utter confidence, it was clearly convincing. Don't you just love honest siblings?
