  tracerguk (ao3)

Jeongguk goes to a party knowing Taehyung, whom he has long been infatuated with, will be attending. But what he doesn't know is that they will be playing seven minutes in heaven. Together.

Like every Thursday evening, Jeongguk ended his day with dance practice. He tried out for the collegiate dance team earlier in the year, and he was pleased to learn that he was accepted. Not only has he had the chance to improve his dancing skills, which he has developed since the early age of 5, but he's made a handful of new friends as well. Some of which, throw typical college parties that he's obligated to go to.

"C'mon man, you have to go to my party tomorrow night. You'll regret it if you don't!" pestered Hoseok. Hoseok was the captain of the dance team, who was an energetic dancer with the personality to match.

"Pretty sure I won't," Jeongguk replied halfheartedly. It wasn't that he didn't like going to Hoseok's parties; he had been to a few before. He's just been busy the past few weeks and had hoped to leave this weekend free for time to relax and play video games. No responsibilities, just peace and quiet all to himself.

"You know, Taehyung told me he might be there," Jimin added, complete with the raise of his eyebrows and a knowing smirk. Jimin always knew how to get what he wanted, and this situation was no different.

Jeongguk has always had a thing for Taehyung, ever since the moment they met. Although they hadn't said more than a couple quick greetings to one another, Jeongguk was absolutely enamored with the boy. Not only did Jeongguk think that he was absolutely gorgeous, but he always seemed like such a fun person to be around. At least, from the stories Jimin nonstop talked about.

"Jeongguk, did you hear what I just said?" Jimin asked. Of course Jeongguk heard what he had said. If he had so much as sensed someone mention Taehyung by name he was listening.

"Yeah. I'll think about it," Jeongguk replied, picking up his dance bag and walking toward the door. "See you guys later."

As Friday evening approached, Jeongguk found himself in his room scouring his closet to find an outfit that he felt was fitting for the party that night. He decided on a pair of tight black skinny jeans, ripped up on the knees (courtesy of a pair of scissors and the inability to sleep), and his favorite black and white graphic hoodie. After he added a touch of eyeliner and finished his hair, quickly tousling it to achieve his preferred "messy" style, he looked at his appearance in the mirror. Although it was simple, he thought he looked nice. He found himself wondering what Taehyung might think of it as well, but quickly discarded that thought as he went to put his shoes on and headed out the door.

"Look who showed up!" Jeongguk heard as he opened up the door to Hoseok's apartment. He looked up to see the man in question greeting him, clad in one of his infamous "party outfits": A button down Hawaiian shirt and jean shorts.

"Yes, I've arrived. It wouldn't be a party without me." Jeongguk replied, with minimal enthusiasm. It wasn't that he didn't want to come to the party. It was mostly that he felt as if his time could be spent more productively at home, watching anime or playing Overwatch. But once he got talking with his friends, he had to admit that he was having a wonderful time. The thought of Taehyung supposedly coming to the party had completely slipped his mind, but he was abruptly reminded when he ran right into him.

"Oh my god I'm so sorry," Jeongguk exclaimed, voice weakening as he realized just who he had run into.

"Oh it's fine, don't worry about it... Jeongguk, right?" Taehyung replied. Jeongguk was not only incredibly embarrassed, but also completely distracted. Taehyung looked absolutely striking (as always). His peach hair, sides shaved into an undercut, mirrored the style of Jeongguk's own. He wore a simple pair of ripped light wash jeans and a tucked white t-shirt, displaying the opposite aesthetic of Jeongguk in every aspect. Perhaps that's why he was so attracted.
