Just got caught under the mistletoe with my arch-nemesis and now everything is changing between us AU

Taehyung just wanted to go home. But there was a problem. He was home – yet there was a huge number of people, even some that he didn't know, staying at his house for a party.

Seokjin, his older brother, made sure to throw a surprise birthday party for his little bro, even though he knew how much Taehyung despised parties. Especially with parties with people he didn't know.

Taehyung just awkwardly waved through the crowd of mingling people, that were probably celebrating new year's, Christmas and his birthday altogether. Taehyung honestly wanted to wrap himself in a blanket and never come out of his room again.

But everything was occupied. Seokjin and Taehyung shared a place – he had to put up with his brother's friends coming over and most of the time it was good because his friends were also Taehyung's friends.

Except for one.

He saw Jeon Jeongguk standing by the door with a red cup in his hand, his head softly moving with the rhythm of a really shitty remix of Jingle bells. He was searching around with eyes, landing on Taehuyng who just sighed sadly and turned around.

Jeongguk was in his first year of college they were attending and Taehyung could not stand the guy. And no, it definitely wasn't because this first year stole his spot in exhibition their school was going to have. No, definitely not.

Taehyung was a social butterfly – the whole school knew. It was rare to see him alone and it was rare to see him frown. But that day was a disaster to Taehyung.

He hadn't had this bad of a day in a while and it all started because it was his birthday.

It's not every day that a young man finally celebrates his 21st birthday, but when your day starts out with a cake literally falling on your face – thanks, Namjoon – you could say, nothing good is about to happen.

Taehyung really couldn't hold a grudge against his friend, he knew Namjoon, Seokjin's boyfriend was clumsier than anyone else, though he was getting less clumxy day after day.

Then came the rain. Because of global warming – yes, Taehyung is going to be petty, they didn't get a white Christmas that year. They did get rain, however. Taehyung missed the bus by a second too late and just as he had given into destiny that he would have to walk, a few raindrops fell right on top of his head.

Finally getting to the café he worked in, he was wet to the bone, not actually having any clothes to change into. Taehyung was feeling the consequences already as he was starting to sniff and cough during the first hour he was there.

Thankfully, Seokjin was able to get him some dry clothes, but by the time that happened, he was already drenched to the bone.

The café was bustling full, seeing it was literally one day before the new year's, and he was just tired. Tired of everyone's bullshit and definitely tired because he felt everyone forgot about his birthday. But now that he was standing between the sweaty bodies, he actually wished everyone would have forgotten about him.

Taehyung leaned back on the wall, trying to calm down a headache that started forming in the back of his head. The loud music was not good for aching body and he just wished everyone would leave.

"Look at you, you look like you are going to pass out."

Even though the deafening music, he could hear the smirk that dripped from Jeongguk's voice. Taehyung rolled his eyes and just shook his head. "I don't have time for your bullshit, Jeon."
