A High School AU in which Jeongguk receives a surprise love letter from his longtime crush, Kim Taehyung
...only to find out that the love letter wasn't really meant for him or is it?

"Kim Taehyung would've probably melt by now,"
Jeongguk quickly glanced at Yoongi sitting beside him with a chopstick on his hand and an amused expression on his face as he stared at the younger boy. He felt a heat creep up on his cheeks as he was caught staring at Taehyung, who was just across the cafeteria, talking animatedly with his friends.
"Geez, you're so obvious." Yoongi continued, chuckling as he ate his remaining lunch. Jeongguk almost rolled his eyes at that. Well, it's not his fault that Taehyung is an attractive boy with a beautiful heart and he just can't help but stare at his crush ever since freshman year, okay?
"Oh shut up-" Jeongguk was immediately interjected when Yoongi gave him a quick glare. "-Hyung." He emphasized. "Don't forget that I saw you blush yesterday when Jin-Hyung gave you one of his freshly-baked cupcakes."
"Wha- Yah! I did not!" The younger smiled teasingly as he saw his hyung's pale complexion has turned into tomato-red. Yoongi was already in his senior year in high school along with Seokjin while he is still in his junior year. They've been friends since his freshman year while Yoongi was in his sophomore year.
He still remembers the first time they had talked, it was also lunchtime in the cafeteria, with nowhere to sit and being an awkward goofball that he is, Jeongguk wasn't able to make friends on his first day of entering High School and Yoongi is an introvert so he doesn't really interact with others' unless if it is needed (group works and all that annoying shit.)
But then he saw the younger looking like a lost bunny in the jammed packed cafeteria while holding his lunch tray on his right hand while his other hand was clutching on his banana milk.
And of course, Min Yoongi being the nice human being that he is, offered Jeongguk a sit, in which the younger reluctantly accepted at first but he was glad he did. You can say after that, the rest was history. He still doesn't understand why Yoongi and Seokjin haven'tmade a move on each other when it's clear as the broad daylight that they like each other. They've been friends with Jin since his Sophomore Year so he knows the googly eyes Yoongi has been giving to the eldest.
Jeongguk momentarily looked at Taehyung from across the cafeteria, his breathing got hitched when he locked eyes with Kim Taehyung. He abruptly looked down at his finished food as to not get caught and the last thing he wants is his crush getting weirded by him. He slowly looked up to look at Taehyung again but his fucking crush. is. now. staring. at. him.
Oh God, does he think I'm weird now? Fuck. He definitely thinks I'm weird and why the hell can't I stop staring at him? His thoughts, as he still held his gaze with Taehyung, who in turn was also looking at him, face unreadable and as stupid and whipped as it sounds.
He felt the world abruptly stopped along with its time when Taehyung gave him his signature boxy-grin, eyes crinkling and Jeongguk has to question himself, that is it possible that he may or may not be falling more in love with the brunette boy across the cafeteria? He thinks that he got it really bad as he avoided the elder's stare.
But the younger hadn't noticed the way Taehyung's smile dissipated and pouted when Jeongguk shunned his gaze. He recalls that Taehyung being the friendly and extroverted person that he is, would always get along with everyone but him, but for some reason, each time Taehyung would try talking to the younger, he would always avoid Taehyung every chance he would get.
