Taehyung's a barista of a small coffee shop and Jeongguk needs a place to work in the morning.

Taehyung turned the sign around, signaling the shop was open for business. The sun filtered in through the windows once he pulled the curtains, allowing the shop to appear much more lively. As he tied the apron around his waist, he saw the familiar chestnut-haired boy walk through the door, making his way to the booth by the north window. This particular boy intrigued Taehyung; he came to the shop every day, from open to close, sat in the same booth, and used his laptop the entire time. He kept a mysterious air to him - the only time he ever spoke was to order the same drink multiple times a day: straight black coffee. Taehyung found it absolutely unique the way he didn't put any sweetener or such in his drink; he just took in the bitter liquid as is and enjoyed every sip. The idea of drinking it was something Taehyung couldn't even begin to imagine. The barista absolutely despised coffee. Every form of it. That wasn't to say he didn't love his job; he just hated what he made.
Jeongguk found the barista at the small shop quite intriguing. He was surrounded by drinks, and yet, he was only seen sipping on water from time to time. That was Taehyung's charming point to Jeongguk. Something about the way the blond seemingly despised his passion was relatable to the boy - they both had a captivating point that set them slightly apart from others in the shop. Jeongguk desperately wished to be friends with the barista, but could never bring himself to speak to him unless it was to aquire his beverage. There was something about Taehyung and his perfect smile that made Jeongguk melt; most days he could barely get his order out without stumbling over his words.
As Jeongguk entered the building at seven, he gave the blond barista a shy smile before setting his laptop bag at his usual booth and made his way towards the counter. Grabbing his wallet out of his hoodie pocket, he tried to attempt ordering his drink without failing miserably. "Good morning! I'll have-"
Taehyung cut him off with a simple, "Black coffee? I know. And good morning to you too, Jeongguk." He smiled, looking at the slightly blushing boy fumble with his wallet to grab the money he owed, to which Taehyung shook his head. "You don't need to worry. You spend so much money here, let me repay you for once."
This caused Jeongguk to look back up at Taehyung and shake his head madly. "No, don't do that!" This fell on deaf ears, as Taehyung was already preparing the drink. Moments later, he was handing the drink to the younger male, who couldn't help but flush red as his fingers brushed Taehyung's.
After thanking the barista, Jeongguk made his way to his booth, pulling out his laptop and getting to work as he occasionally sipped his coffee. Being focused on his screen, he didn't notice Taehyung slip away from the counter and come up behind him, calmly watching him type.
"Do you run a blog or something? Fanfiction?" Taehyung asked with a small chuckle, startling the writer, making him let out a noise similar to a squeak.
"Journalist, actually. I write for the paper. Not that you would be educated enough to indulge in reading," he replied with a small smile, eyes not leaving his screen. Taehyung sat down next to Jeongguk since nobody else was in the shop yet.
"Harsh," Taehyung joked, looking at the article Jeongguk was writing. "Alright, to be fair, I have no idea what any of this political stuff means," he admitted as he looked over the article.
"Of course you don't, you're only a barista," Jeongguk said with a small giggle, Taehyung replying by poking Jeongguk's side. "Fine, fine. I'm sorry. You own the shop too," he added, making Taehyung roll his eyes with a smile, continuing conversations about trivial things for around an hour before he saw another customer.
