Namjoon had always been the only person to help him calm his nerves, his voice is soothing, his touch, even his face is just relaxing.
He's just always been a constant presence in Jungkook's life, he almost feels more like home than Jungkook's actual family.
Until Taehyung had come around, with his pretty eyes and deep voice.

Jungkook messed up.
He had lost track of time in the library, so, naturally, the librarian kicks him out at midnight when they close, the streets eerily empty at this time.
His heart feels like it's about to implode inside his chest as he walks towards his campus in the dark.
Tensing as he sees a group of drunk men walking in the opposite direction, he avoids eye contact as he keeps his eyes on the ground, hoping that maybe they wouldn't even acknowledge his existence.
His heart drops as they notice him, one of them strays from the group towards him, whispering to his friends something too low for Jungkook to hear.
Jungkook twists around to avoid the man as he attempted to bump into him, causing the man to stumble and the whole group to stop, feels their eyes on his back as he tries to walk faster, curses at himself for putting himself in a situation like this.
He gasps as a hand grabs his shoulder from behind, pushing him harshly so that he stumbles into an alleyway, dropping his book.
He looks up to see the bunch coming towards him as he steps back, looks behind him only to see a dead end.
"Didn't your mom teach you manners kid?" The one in front snarls, "How about you apologize and we won't hurt you too badly?"
Now as shy and quiet as Jungkook is, he also has pride, the last thing he wants to do is say sorry for a reason he isn't sure of, and when it wasn't his fault in the first place.
So he does the dumb thing and stays quiet, keeps glaring and sees the men get angrier at his silence.
He looks to the side, wonders if he can outrun four people; if he can get past them at all.
He keeps his eye on them as he crowds next to the wall next to a conveniently placed pile of bricks, he glances at them, the men walking slowly towards him, cracking their knuckles and rolling up their sleeves like some badly directed action movie, seemingly enjoying feeling like predators hunting a helpless prey.
Jungkook subtly grabs a brick, thinking he might as well try to make a run for it.
So as soon as he sees an opening, he slams the brick against the side of the leader's head, knocking him unconscious as well as shocking the others.
He bolts, ignoring his discarded textbook as he hears footsteps behind him.
And yet again, he's pulled back by the back of his shirt as soon as he steps out of the alley.
A man grabs him from behind, restraining his arms as the other one delivers a punch to his gut, another one on his cheek.
Jungkook gasps at the blows, the breath knocked out of him.
Yet there's no way he's about to give up without a fight.
He brings his leg up and kicks the man in front of him right between his legs, causing him to scream in pain, as he falls onto his knees giving Jungkook a chance to land a second kick to his face, the man falling backward with a sickening crack.
