Jeongguk knows it's just a little bit pathetic to be crying alone in his bed, balled up under the covers with his face in the pillow to try and muffle his sobs, but well... it just be like that sometimes.

A fresh assault of tears well up in his eyes and spill over without impediment, the small cries ripped from his throat leaving it sore and raw. He's doing his best not to let the snot drip out of his nose by sniffing so violently it makes his head spin. The way his chest heaves reminds him of how it feels to do cardio, but at this point he'd rather do cardio than be in his bed letting his emotions leak out of him in the form of salty tears and watery snot.

Maybe he should call his mom. She always knows what to say, has always been around to hold him tight when he scraped a knee or had a mental breakdown. But... his mom also loves Taehyung, almost as much as Jeongguk. After all, they've been best friends for who knows how long. Taehyung is basically her second son. And Jeongguk knows they'll work this out, but he doesn't know how long it'll take and he doesn't want to put his mom in a position of disliking Taehyung just because he hurt Jeongguk's feelings a lot, so much that it makes his heart ache .

Jeongguk takes one long, deep breath and sucks the snot back up his nose and wipes his eyes. He knows he'll see Jimin later, when they go to work out. But Jimin is also Taehyung's friend, and Jeongguk knows they talk about him when he's not there. Most of the time, he doesn't mind when they talk about him but he's not sure he wants to give Jimin more content to chat about with Taehyung. Especially when Taehyung thinks he's overreacting in the first place. He doesn't need Jimin telling Taehyung about how he spent all morning crying his eyes out.

A sigh. He blinks, thinking that he's got most of the crying out of his system, but then another cry falls from his mouth and more tears cascade down his cheeks and he's back to the start all over again.

He should probably get his homework out and at least try to do his math. But the thought of even sitting up makes him cry more and honestly he just really wants his mom right now and maybe a big cup of orange juice and for everything to resolve itself so he doesn't have to do it.

MANJEONGSINI NAN HIMDEUREO AMUGEOTDO HAL SUGA EOPSEO.

His alarm goes off, blasting Big Bang as loud as possible, jerking Jeongguk awake even though he doesn't recall falling asleep. He blinks wearily at the clock and sighs. He slept a solid eight hours last night, and then fell asleep for four more this morning... going to sleep tonight will be a bitch. But that's a problem for future Jeongguk. For now, he just has to throw on some sweats and a tshirt and go meet Jimin unless he wants to get murdered for skipping leg day.

He scrubs at his face and looks in the mirror. His eyes are a little bloodshot and his entire face is puffy from falling back asleep. But honestly, who cares? He's just going to the gym where everyone is gross and disgusting, he certainly won't be an outlier. Jeongguk brushes his teeth, spits out the foam, wipes his face, and tries to smile at himself in the mirror.

It doesn't really work and Jimin will know he's feeling like shit from the moment he walks in, so he may as well just leave like this. Keys in hand, Jeongguk locks the front door and walks the fifteen minutes to the gym. Normally he might jog or run the distance to get some cardio in, but today is not a normal day.

"Holy shit, you look like you got run over by a semi," is the way Jimin greets him, reaching out and tilting Jeongguk's head back so he can see Jeongguk's ruined face with better lighting. "Are finals really that bad?"
