Jungkook gets up from his chair and shuts the door, then flops down on his bed, laying on his back. He brings his hand up to his cheek, and he can practically feel the heat of his blush. 'Jin-hyung can probably fry eggs on my cheek and serve them to Namjoon-hyung still warm and toasty even after two days,' he thinks to himself.
He sits up and leans against the headboard, staring blankly into the room. What honestly even just happened?
-
Jungkook wants to cry. He had just finished his Biology paper and was just about to start on studying for his Literature test the next day when someone from his class asked him about some group work they apparently had ("Oh, damn! I didn't even know we had a group project. Thanks for reminding me, Gyeom!"). But in reality, he actually completely forgot about it, and now he wants to break down. Uni life is shit.
"Fuck!" he exclaims, and he was just about to smack his thick Biology book against his head when a voice rings from across the hall.
"Kookie! Want some coffee?"
Jungkook's head snaps up and turns to his door just as this was being opened, and the rich aroma of coffee wafts into his room. Carrying a mug of coffee was Taehyung, who was his totally lovable but sometimes too-loud roommate (don't get him wrong, though; he had actually been crushing on Taehyung ever since they first met).
"Ah, Kook-ah!" Taehyung says and sets the mug down on Jungkook's desk. Jungkook mutters a quiet thank-you and proceeds to sip from his mug. Taehyung sits down on Jungkook's bed, leaning against the headboard. He looks over at Jungkook, who was in cute little flannel pajamas and a really loose shirt, and whose hair was sticking up and disheveled. 'Probably from running his hands through them too much,' he thinks to himself.
"What are you up to at this hour?"
Jungkook groans and puts his mug down, then runs his hand through his hair in frustration. Taehyung just looks at him with an amused look. 'I knew it,' he thinks, smirking at the younger.
"Stupid professor assigned us a stupid group project yesterday, and I completely forgot about it until Yugyeom texted me about it." Jungkook lets out an exasperated sigh, and Taehyung hums in response.
"And then I still have to study for the stupid Literature test we have tomorrow," Jungkook says, checking his phone. He groans again. "In a few hours, I mean. Fuck."
Taehyung nods. "I see. Well," Taehyung says, "is there anything you need help with -"
He is cut off by a loud chime signaling a notification, and Jungkook turns to check his phone again. His eyes go wide, and he snaps his head towards Taehyung, his mouth slightly open in shock.
Taehyung, though amused at the younger's expression ('He looks like a cute bunny,' he thinks), leans forward in concern anyway.
"What's wrong?" Taehyung, a drama major, is actually pretty good in talking in different tones even when he doesn't really mean them. He can sound mad if he really wanted to and can seem happy even if he really weren't. He's just that good. At the moment, though, there is nothing but a sincere expression on his face.
"Hyung," Jungkook says in a grieving tone. "My first class is at 8 am, and Literature is literally my first class."
Taehyung furrows his eyebrows together. "What - Didn't you know that?" He scratches his head in confusion. "We're a month and a half into uni, Kook, and it's... kinda your second year."
Jungkook shakes his head and looks down, suddenly shy. "I keep confusing my first year schedule with this year's schedule," he mutters.
Taehyung's eyes go wide, and suddenly he's leaning against the headboard again, laughing so loudly that Jungkook swears he can see the mug on his desk vibrating a bit. Jungkook groans for what seemed like the 32nd time that evening, and thinks of smacking his book against his head again.
