Aziz had grown old. Yet he felt so alive! As unimaginable as it seemed, Sanem Aydin turned his family's world around. As he sat and reminisced about the fated home bird that captured his son Can's heart, he wondered what did he and his family do to deserve such a blessing...

He met Sanem only once before he left and entrusted Fikri Harika to Can's capable hands. She was a shy young girl, with the spunk and attitute not often found. She also had an uncanny gift of photographic memory, and the brightest brown eyes. That is how he remembered her. Throughout the time he was gone, he had learned that his eldest son fell deeply in love with her. This had caused Can to stay in Instanbul, and for this Aziz was grateful to Sanem.

As a young man of old age, Aziz possessed great knowledge of what truly mattered in life. And he recognized that once in a lifetime love when he saw it. Deep down inside he saw a lot of himself in Can. He saw a sensitive soul behind a facade of confidence. He knew that Can paid little attention to the bling and fame, and instead was drawn to the sensitive and uncommon part of life. Sure, his fame caused him to revolve in circles of the rich and famous, but Can never grew fond of that. On the contrary, he felt the dullness of it and it often irritated him.

Aziz realized that something had changed in Can from the moment that Sanem showed up in their lives. She not only pushed Can's buttons in ways he was not used to, but she also caused Can to open up. Aziz understood how Can felt, because a long time ago that sort of love happened to him...

Once, nearly a lifetime ago, Aziz fell in love with the most beautiful angel he had ever seen in his life. Mihriban was as pure and innocent as one could imagine. She was kind, honest, and above all she fell for the real Aziz, the man that he was, and not the man his family was molding him to be. Their love helped them blossom, helped them survive many difficult times in their lives.

There was a part of Aziz's heart that, once filled by Mihriban, was never able to be filled by anyone else. She still lived there, and deep in his soul too. His love for her made him a better man, and the peace and calm she instilled in his heart made him that much better of a father to his two sons. When Mihriban left, his world fell apart. He had no one to turn to, nowhere to go. Crushed by the void left behind by Mihriban, he turned to Hüma. Though she turned his life into a nightmare, he could never hate her the way she hated bim. He could not, because she bestowed the gift of fatherhood onto him. And even though Hüma herself disregarded the gift of motherhood, he never could have.

Aziz recognized the same pain in the heart that Can carried now. Loss of one's true love goes beyond any physical pain, for it hurts in the heart and in the soul. And in some instances, that pain never heals. Aziz never coped with the pain caused by Mihriban's leaving. But he soon had learned that he had a son with Huma, and so he poured all that was left of love in his heart into Can, for he could never love Huma, no way in his life... She accused him of cheating, though he could never cheat since there would only be one woman who filled his whole heart...

Aziz sighed, and again thought of Sanem, how much she resembled Mihriban. He smiled thinking how all because of Sanem, his true love had returned to him once more. He adored Sanem because she still cared about Can, that he could see. And now it seemed that Sanem was the key that would unlock the door to his own past, and back to the only true love in his life. And as much as it overjoyed him to see Mihriban again, his heart grew a thousand-times over for he realized her love for him had not disappeared either. They were still love, still held each others' souls. And, most of all, they made a pact to bring Sanem and Can's love back to life too...
