The day had finally come in Can Divit's life when he realized he was loved. Finally loved. Loved as a man for the first and only time. Loved as a man of severe complexity. Loved as a man with his hidden sorrows. Loved as a man who overcame his fear of loving someone completely with his whole entire heart...

Can knew long ago that Sanem was his soulmate. The other half of his heart. Together they were complete. And together they decided to set out on a journey to the unknown for next two years. For Can, this day could not have come a day too soon, for he understood that all that they needed in life was each other. And he knew that Sanem felt the same exact way. The life they lived up to that point taught them one thing. One very important thing. And that was the fact that life without each other did not exist. From the very first moment that their hearts met, they formed an invisible unbreakable bond. It wasn't just based on the laws of attraction. Though they could not explain, their hearts only beat for one another, and never for anyone else.

It was hard for Can to open up to Sanem's allencompassing and unconditional love. He thought he could do it on his own terms, but he was mistaken. He finally admitted Sanem loved him, and he loved her too. And he never felt better. He had Sanem by his side. Come rain or shine, they would be together. Come storms or calm waters, he would be her captain and she would be his mate. Come what may, Can Divit had finally found his place on earth where he truly wanted to put his roots down and grow those rooths deep deep down.

The morning of their departure began with a beautiful sight. He had Sanem in his arms, and the sweet sway of the hammock reminded him of the first time they found courage to finally be themselves and allow their hearts speak the true language of love. That night Sanem fell asleep in his arms, but in a very much different way from the past two times she fell asleep by his side. That time, she fell asleep in his arms as a woman who allowed herself to reveal to him that she liked him. She liked him for who he was as a man. Not as a boss, not as a successful and wealthy photographer. She liked him for him. And that made such a difference. When he woke up that morning, in the gentlest breeze in their hair, his eyes gazed at the most beautiful and kindest soul he had ever met. Had she only woken up a few moments before, she would have recognized the love he had for her, even back then...

Looking into Sanem's eyes that faithful morning revealed to Can that she was still filled with the sorrow she felt after speaking with her parents. They loved her. At some point in time they loved him too - he felt he needed to remember that because if he lost faith in that then he would loose his faith in his future with Sanem. He was misjudged and falsely accused of all the pain Sanem went through. He wanted to shout at the top of his lungs that it was not him who was at fault. He became an outcast, and upon his return he was treated that way too. And yet, he did not reveal Yigit's vicious game. Instead he endured the punishment Mevkibe and Nihat layed upon him. And though they had left their house without at blessing, Can understood that was not the way to go. He told Sanem they would go to her father and ask for his forgiveness and his blessing. He told Sanem that it mattered to her. But what he meant was that it mattered to him too.

They drove toward Sanem's parents home. And Can strongly believed they would make it work. Their love was strong enough to overcome any obstacle. They had each other. Their love built bridges and brought people together. Their love brought them complete fulfillment and unsurpassed joy. Their love was everlasting and came from their true hearts...

Can looked at Sanem, and all he could think of was that he would make it his life's purpose to take her sorrows away. Her eyes were so sad, and yet so full of love. He was so much in love with her, and he was so glad he could hear again the sound of her heart. He could feel her gentle pulse under his fingers when he took hold of her hand. He heard his heart repeat again and again how much he loved her.

And then.... All he could hear was the despair of the deffening silence that tore his heart to the core...
