There comes a change in a heart that realizes it is loved. And Can was beginning to feel it. He was defenceless agains it. Powerless to stop it. He only hoped it was not too late...
Can Divit's heart was always filled with the void left in it by his mother. The woman who was supposed to guard him against the sorrows of the world left him behind. And that void in his heart demanded of him to learn to live a very guarded life. He excelled in whatever he did. He convinced himself that if he put all of his mind and energy in what he did, excelled in it to the maximum, then he would forget that pain. He would forget the fact that he had not felt a mother's love. Since he never witnessed his parents' love, he had not experienced what true love between two people could feel like, and he never bothered to look for that kind of love. But as much as he worked himself to the edge in all of his projects, there was always something at the back of his mind that yearned to belong to someone. To have that one person he could count on. To have that one person wait for him with open arms. And one perosn would have been enough.
He lost his memory. He forgot just how Sanem filled that void in his heart with more love than he could imagine. The only thing she was guilty of was loving him more than she loved herself. Their hearts found each other. Impossible to believe, but they needed each other as much as they loved each other. She needed his love and his strength and belief that she was capable of greater things than she was limiting herself to. And he needed her love and her sincere and pure affection, and the fact that for the first time in his life someone fell in love with him - him, not his status or money or fame. Sanem saw him, the real him. A man as mysterious as the deepest sea and as complex as the moonless skies. And he finally let go of his fears of being left behind and let his love guide him straight to her heart.
True, they went through ups and downs, break-ups and make-ups, with vices and virtues all throughout their love. But their love had been strong. Stronger than Aylin, Hüma, Polen, Yigit, and the year their hearts were forced to live apart from one another. Can had come back. Where he belonged. Not just to Istanbul, but back by Sanem's side. Their friends and loved ones all joined together with greatest efforts to ensure they made their way back to each other again. When their efforts paid off, and they saw how Sanem and Can shone from inside out with their love again, they had rejoiced because they knew how much they meant to each other. They knew that the only way for them to be happy again would be for them to go on with their lives joined as one heart and one soul...
But their love was cut short by the most unfortunate of accidents. They lived, but they were sentenced to the worst possible punishment. They survived, but lost their love in the process. Sanem fought her emotions for the second time in her life. Not knowing if he would survive was worse than any despair she felt when he was at sea. And Can was hurt just as much in the process. His heart that had finally freed itself of the fear it felt deep inside and finally gave itself entirely to Sanem, now felt as lonely as it ever felt. Worse, it felt lonely and lost. And he did not know how to deal with it.
Sanem tried her best to bring back their love, but the sorrow in her that cried out for the Can that loved her won the battle in her heart. It hurt her to breathe, for each breath she felt she now felt without himfftcc. It hurt to be near him because she no longer heard the melody of his soul singing in hers. It hurt looking into his eyes, for his eyes no longer saw hers in his. It hurt to thing of his heart for that heart no longer felt hers. And admitting that she had to let go killed her spirit she never wanted to let go of. She would never love another. She never could. Writing books would fulfil her dreams, but her life and her heart would forever belong to him. And she was finally strong enough to admit it...
The moment Sanem left the mansion after the party celebrating the campaing for her creams, Can gathered his courage and went after her. He was ready to stop her. He was ready to confess his love. He was ready to make her understand that she needed to stay. But when she turned around his courage disappeared. His words escaped him, for he saw her eyes. He saw her tears. And he felt her pain. Worst of all, he felt she was letting go of their love. She was letting go of his heart. And he did not know what to say. She told him she saw he was beginning to feel something. Some kind of inkling at the bottom of his heart that told him he had feelings for her. But it was not enough, and it was becoming too late. For him and for her. He tried to reason with her, but she stopped him. She could not bare to listen to his voice that once repeated the words 'I love you' and now it no longer did...
She told him he was an albatross, but no longer hers. And she left before she would be forced to let him see the tears in her eyes had finally started falling. He stood alone. The most unbearable loneliness filled his heart. And he could not bare the fact that Ayça stood there just watching as his heart got ripped out. He despised women who seeked advances just as she did, for her own personal gain, without any consideration for him and his life. So he left as quickly as he could. And found his way to the shores of the Bosphorus. To the place by the water where he finally could think for himself. For himself and his heart. His heart and his life. And he finally realized that the heart he tried to guard never needed to be guarded against Sanem. It needed to be protected with her love. The love she offered freely and with open arms. He finally realized that where he always closed himself off from her, she always stood there with loving arms just waiting for him to accept her back. And the guarded heart of Can Divit screamed back at him to fight one last battle, one last war for her heart. To give it his all, and get all of her back...
