Sanem stood by the dock. Stood on her land. Yet she felt so remote and so strange that the ground beneath her feet made her feel disconnected with it all. Before her stood Yigit, and he held a ring. As surreal as it seemed, he appeared to be confident in his actions that she would say yes. And this, to Sanem was beyond words...

The only thing she felt of the physical world was Can's ring next to her heart. Whether on her finger or around her neck, she knew she would never accept any other ring, from anyone else for as long as she'd live. Can's ring meant everything to her, for only the two of them knew the real story of it's origins. The ring was that of the moonstone Can held in his hands. The light one, that brought light in his life. She remembered she felt the despair, so vivid in her heart, when the moonstone broke as a result of her touch. At the time she dropped it she thought it meant something bad. She cried out of fear, for Can and their future. But Can realized the true meaning of the stone's breaking in half. The stone now had two parts, much as their two hearts. So he did as his heart told him, and he did his best to polish it into a ring that would addorn Sanem's hand for all eternity. And this, she knew, made the ring beyond all value of all material things, since Can created the ring with his two hands and with love.

Much as the book Sanem made for Can as a gift of love for his birthday, the ring was made by Can for her. When Can proposed the first time with the ring, her soul cried out with all the passions of love and happiness one soul could handle. Yet her heart knew she could not accept without confessing it all. She loved Can beyond words, beyond her own life. He never knew how much sorrow she felt at that moment she declined acceping the ring. The tears she cried later that day could not be contained in all the oceans combined on earth...

The second time Can offered her the ring proved to be the most magical of proposals. He loved her dearly, but he loved her parents as well. It meant so much to her, and to Nihat and Mevkibe, that Can first turned to them before he turned to her. He understood the value of family, and she helped him open up to their love. What she felt at that moment spoke right to her soul. He would forever be hers, and she would forever belong to him...

Standing now before Yigit made her feel upset. And it made her realize the undoubted truth yet again, that perhaps Can had been right about Yigit and his intentions toward her. What if he felt that way since the beginning? Did she fail to see behind his facade of smiles? That thought kept spinning around in her head.

As much as she's wished for this ordeal to end, she realized Yigit was deafly serious. She begged her lucky stars for some way she could escape, for Yigit was not listening to her words no matter how many ways she tried to explain they could not be together. She could never be his, and the fact he failed to see that meant he never understood her from the first day they met...

And just as she began to give in to the despair of the hopelessness she now felt, her two knights in shining armor came right to her rescue. The fact that Ceycey and Muzo heard her heart's cry out for help, reassured her about their friendship and their bond. She caught Yigit's anger in his piercing eyes when he looked at Ceycey, and she vowed she would protect him just as he helped her right now..
