Can could not sleep. The joy of love and satisfaction that filled his heart brought on an undescribable level of awareness and energy. He imagined he had enough stamina to last him for decades. So Sanem still loved him. She may pretend, and may try to hide it, but she still loved him. How else could he explain the ring that she kept right next to her heart?
He thought of the ring. Of its origins. Of its symbolic beginning, and what it meant to them. The ring was his labour. A labour of love. Born out of the fact that his guardian moonstone of moon's power of light broke by a half. Sanem felt responsible for it. Felt so scared in her heart. But he recognized the symbolic metaphor for what it really meant. Now there were two part, two halves of a whole. Each touch of the stone, each motion he made to carve out the shape that made the stone to fit in the ring, put another mark of his love on that stone. Each spark that shone out of the stone's edges when he turned the stone to give it the new shape signified another million sparks of love he felt for Sanem within his heart...
No storebought ring would ever do for Sanem. No storebought one would ever do for him either. They both understood true meaning of love that went into that ring. That ring held power. The power of love. No one from their friends and their families would ever understand the meaning of that ring. For only the two of them knew the true story of its origins. A moonstone as strong as millions of diamonds, and it broke for a reason only for Sanem.
The fact that she still kept it so close to her heart left him breathless. Left his heart wide open. He felt as though the biggest of hopes that his heart dreamed of came true, and a thousand times more. He still mattered to her. And the fact that she denied clinging still to anything of his brought on a challenge for him, and one he accepted with a spark in his eye. The confident Can was slowly beginning to realize it was okay to be himself again. After all, Sanem fell in love with his witt and his charm, and his confidend ways.
So he waited until she fell back asleep. In the spur of the moment he hatched a plan to take the ring back. He smiled and knew he would not think of consequences in that moment of glory. Though Sanem was asleep she did not make it easy for him. Not by the least. And her sleepy gesture was as pure of Sanem's move as they ever came. Always surprising, always full of twists. He wondered if she felt through her dream that she held his hand, and held his heart in it as well. Her gentle touch sent shockways down his spine. His mind was filled with the purpose of taking the ring back, but his soul was filled with the sensation of Sanem's soft warm hand holding his own. To let go or to hold on? The practical side won, and he twisted his hand away from Sanem's.
He left triumphantly after taking the ring. Little did he know how much worry and sorrow he caused her for that. And by taking the ring he sealed the faith of his beloved bandana, which would soon again switch its owner, if only for a short while, all because of his plan...
