There are those who are blessed with a family, their love and support. They cherish what they were blessed with each day of their life. There are also those who not only take advantage of what they were given in life but also completely ignore it. And then there are those who yearn for that sense of beloning with all of their heart because they believe there is more to life than the void left by the absence of love.

Can Divit would never admit just how much that void in his life hurt. He was a man of few words, someone that guarded what he held deep inside. He was hurt at a young age and a child's void in his heart never trully healed. Worse, it changed that trusting heart of his to expect that void through all of his life, that detachment in people. His father Aziz tried his best to show him how much he loved him, but try as he might, one parent seldom succeeds in filling that void. Can always knew and felt that Aziz loved him beyond his fatherly part, but he also felt the absence of love from Hüma...

Meeting Sanem filled his life with love and that much needed light. He knew she was different from the very beginning. She was pure, and sincere, and she never backed down. She was stubborn and forward about all that she felt. And somehow above all he began to recognize that being with her was helping him heal. He did not know how much he would come to rely on her love and her power of healing. For that's what she had. A true power within, to heal - and to destroy him, all bundled in one.

Learning to trust again and forgive was a foreign concept to Can. He never went back on his word that once he was through with a person, that meant forever. Sanem showed him that a heart could trust again, and somehow forgive. It took him a long time to recognize that his love for Sanem was more than a passing phase. Their love meant more to him than his own life. He loved her more. More than his freedom, more than his heart, more than his mountains and more than the sea. That it was forever, and one long day more...

Sitting in the living room with his father, he realized how much he was thankful to have his father right by his side. All thanks to Sanem he had Aziz back in his life again day in and day out. And it seemed that Aziz was thankful to have him back in his as well. Can could hardly remember how many times they had a real son-father talks in the past, but now those talks came in more frequent than ever, and he cherished them all.

They spoke of the sea, but both understood the true meaning of his words. They spoke of the freedom, the wind, and the waves. They spoke of the hopes they all brought Can, and of the dangers they held. The magic of the surpise in the unknown depths of them all, and the daunting calamity they encompassed within. The waves had the power to destroy and the waves had the power to caress, and in the end of it all the sea and its mystery could never be parted with. Aziz knew it, and all too well. He was aware of how treacherous and alluring the sea could be. And he gifted Can with one piece of advice. Though the ship may be easy to be steered in the mid summer's serene and calm breeze, the ship may be difficult to steer by oneself in severe storms.

Both men had ageed that life dealt them alike cards. The sense of belonging and the temptation of what lay ahead. Can hoped that Aziz finally found happiness with Mihriban back in his life. And Aziz wished with a father's kind heart that Can finally realized how much a ship's captain needs a mate by his side...
