No words ever hurt more than those that make one understand that their love did not matter. That they did not matter. That they were not loved. For Sanem Aydin, those words hurt more than any pain she had ever lived through...

Sanem was a born optimist. Seeing the light of the world everywhere she turned, she always viewed life in a kind and good way. And she loved life. But life had not always loved her back. The greatest love of all to have ever existed happened to her, but it was anything but peaceful and without twists. In fact, the true love that had come her way proved as much painful as it was uplifting. It felt as much a trap for her heart as much as it felt like freedom to her soul. Can Divit gave his heart to her, but he also ripped hers out of her chest. And whenever he found a way to place both of their hearts back in her heart, life found a way to put a halt on their love.

The embankment was always so special to Sanem and Can. They shared ups and downs there. Greatest dreams of a future together, as well as moments that cut their hearts into pieces. And this time was no different. But somehow it felt different. She found the courage in her heart to speak of the pain she felt inside. To speak of the reality of what it felt like when he went away. To speak up of the fleeing hope that Can's love might come back to him because he admitted to his father that none of his love lay in his heart for Sanem. And that hurt the most. Not all the breakups. Not all the lies. Nor his doubting in their love and escaping the reality into the sea for a year. Not even her emotional ordeal when he no longer held her hand right after the accident. What hurt the most of everything that she had gone through was the fact that he no longer felt any of that love for her in his heart.

So she looked in his eyes and finding no love there, walked away from him. Each step felt unbearable, but she felt she needed to take those steps for herself. And maybe for them too, because she would never be able to stay with him if she knew his heart no longer felt hers. Yet as soon as she started walking, she heard him call out her name. How many times had she begged the stars and the luck of her life to hear him call out her name in the year that had passed without him by her side??? She turned, and felt his hand on her arm. An all too familiar warmth came to her heart, one that she could not deny. She turned to him, with hope and pain in her eyes. He begged her to hear him out. He hoped his words would bring her solace. But instead, her reply cut an unforeseen wound in his heart, for he revealed his father told him if he held Sanem's hand all of their love would come back to him, and she in reply told him that he should have thought of that himself first. She surprised him. Caught him off guard.

And that, in his mind, was something that he did not expect. For she was the first woman in his life that never did as he thought, never acted as he would have expected. And he was falling for her. As it appeared, for the second time in his life. He was beginning to see why he fell in love with her. He just did not know what to think about it. And whether he should just let go of his fear and surrender to what he felt. But one thing was for certain. He was not ready to let her go. Not now, and it was beginning to look like not ever...
