Can sat and looked at the group of people enjoying the moment in time where all seemed perfect. He took it all in. The former Can would see things as they were, without a moment of thought. The man he was now was much wiser. Not afraid of his feelings. Not afraid to admit to himself that there were things in life that meant more to him than his own life...

Looking at his friends and family brought him so much gratitude. He was grateful to be back. Grateful to Remide for forcing him to return. In her own perfect way he felt she knew what she was doing. After all she knew him better than he would admit. His journey brought him back, full circle, to the place he belonged. He now understood that he did have people in his life that cared for him. There was Ceycey and Deren, Emre and Leyla, his father and Mihriban, and newly discovered friends Deniz and Bulut. Each of them held a place in his heart where he never knew such a place could exist. He loved his father and his brother Emre, but now he finally understood that sense of family, so painfully missing from his life in the past...

And then there was Sanem. So peacefully happy and glowing with light. He wondered if she could see the light in her eyes. And he wondered if he would ever again be a source of that light, as he was in the past. He remembered so well the way her eyes changed the hue of the color of the deepest brown whenever she spoke of her love for him. Whenever she felt it. Whenever she was not afraid to show that love to the world...

He remebered the moment he held her at the beach, dripping of water. For the first time in his life they let their feelings speak for themselves. He begged her to no longer run away from him. To stay in his arms. That feeling of home whenever he held her captured his heart in a way no other woman was capable of. And he trusted his gut feeling and surrendered to her.

He remebered the moment she stood before him at the opera, speechless probably for the first time in her life. He was her Albatross, but he was much more. When he heard her explain to Ceycey that she broke off her engagement to Osman and that she forgot about Albatross because she fell in love with a man out of her reach, he could not contain the burst of love he felt at that moment. He felt the same way when he revealed his identity, and he realized she accepted him so much more for that. She loved him first, and then loved him more because she realized their first kiss was truly THEIR first kiss...

He remembered the moment he proposed to her, and she accepted. He finally found his safe harbor and his place on earth. How life turned out afterwards could not be explained, so he chose to look past that. The fact was he was back. Back with his friends. And back in Sanem's life. They were now partners. For good and for bad. If life did not find it in his stars to bring him and Sanem back together in love, he would take her partnership for all days to come. He would never love another, that he knew all too well, but then he knew he would not need anyone else in his life.
