Looking at Sanem filled Can with all sorts of emotions. Happiness, for again being able to see her beautiful face. Fulfillment, for his life felt whole with her back in it. Love, for his love never went away and it felt stronger and stronger with each passing day. Satisfaction, for not only seeing how she reacted to loosing his ring but also seeing how happy she became when he returned it. But now what mattered was that she felt sad and somehow trapped in a viscious circle all because someone dared to take away her creams. And he felt what she felt...

The sadness painted itself so vividly on her face. But it was her eyes that got his attention. One look at her, and the deep sorrow she felt went straight to his heart. He had never seen that look. It wasn't just sadness, it was mixed with resignation. And that was a side of her he never knew before. It made him wonder how many layers of her were there still to be discovered. And he realized how much more curious and in love with her he was now.

He spoke softly to her. Not in an authoritarian voice, but in a caring one. She always knew how to draw out a softer side of him. And she noticed his effort just now. He told her not to worry. He would take care of it all. To change the subject, he moved on to the topic of their new campaign for the sailor club. Strange as it was, his past year's experience made him sort of an expert on that topic. He thought for a moment how life had a way of circling around and taking inspiration for current events from what already occurred in the past. The campaing ahead of them entailed a story of a mermaid and a sailor. They had two separate worlds, but both shared a love for the sea and soon for each other. He left the safety of the land to seek her out, and she left the world she knew behind to join him in his. This proved to be so sumbolic for them. As Sanem put it in her words, the sailor became her air and reason for living...

This story reminded Can of the amber necklace he gifted Sanem for her birthday. It was a bittersweet gift, for they were not together at that time. He did not know then just how many nights she would spend on wishing upon that necklace and the power of the sea enchanted in it so that he would return to her. It worked the first time, and did so for the second time as well.  The story of that amber necklace with the power of tears of love cried out by a princess in hopes that those tears help form a path for her sailor to return to her, was so close to his heart now. He thought of all the tears Sanem cried over the past year. And for a brief second he though of the fact that Yigit had a hand in sending him away, just as in the story of the princess of the amber tears and her sailor. But he came back, and he would make sure Yigit would no longer mud the water in which Can and Sanem belonged to each other.

Can saw how impressed Sanem was with his drawing. He saw the spark of light return to her eyes.  And he felt happy to stirr curiousity in her about what yet lay ahead of her to discover about him. So he had a talent in his hands for creating beauty just as she did for creating her creams. And she had a talent for noticing details with her photographic memory, just as he had a talent in noticing details with his photographs and he knew how to capture those details.

He wondered how much they would be able accomplish if they ever put all of their talents together. For now they were partners, neighbors, and companions. And he realized how much pleasure it would bring him to morph all those relations together and hold her in his arms as someone more than that...
