~Lilith's POV~
"Lil? What's wrong?" Michael asked as I sat alone at a table, waiting for the bell to dismiss us to our first period classes. I looked up, realizing I'd been so lost in my own thoughts that he must've easily seen the upset look on my face. Trying to cover it up, I gave him a smile and waved a hand dismissively. "Oh, nothing. I'm okay." I assured, looking up at him as he stood in front of me. However, it seemed he didn't buy my words too much, which I didn't blame him for. I'd have been more concerned if he had bought them. "You seem sad." He observed, surprising me when he kneeled down in front of me with a concerned furrow in his brows. "You can talk to me, you know. I know how to keep a secret." He assured, giving me a friendly smile. After a little bit of debating, I sighed and nodded.
"Well, it's just that none of my old friends have called me. Not even a text." I sighed, feeling a little bummed out about it. Before I'd moved away, I'd purposely given them all the new address I'd be living at in case they wanted to come over. Not only that, but I told them I was keeping the same phone number, too. I mean, how much more obvious could I have made it that I wanted to hear from them?
Michael opened his mouth to talk, but someone else beat him to it. "Maybe you shouldn't have been a bitch to your old friends." Someone tsked from behind me, causing me to frown and turn around. I looked up, coming face-to-face with Ruby. Luke was stood beside her, but I knew it was her that had spoken. "What?" I asked, frowning. She raised a dark brow and crossed her arms over her chest. "You heard me." She said flatly, almost like she was trying to start a fight with me. I didn't bite, though. She could insult me all she wanted. I just sighed and shook my head, turning back around towards Michael, who was looking behind me at Ruby and Luke. "Can you two get lost or something?" He sighed, but they didn't leave. In fact, they just took their seats at the table.
A deep sigh came from Michael. "I'm sorry, Lil." He apologized, but I just smiled lightly. "It's okay. Not your fault." I shrugged, dismissing our previous conversation altogether. It wasn't like I was going to talk about it with Luke and Ruby right by us. So, instead I just twiddled my thumbs while I waited for the bell to ring, Michael now sitting next to me in the chair.
"Hey." Scarlett greeted us chirpily as she sat down beside me in the chair suddenly, causing me to blink in surprise. I scooted my chair away a little and Scarlett smiled, patting my thigh. "Cute skirt." She complimented me, leaning back in her chair with a smile. I looked down at my outfit, as if I were unaware of what I dressed myself in. The skirt she was referring to was white vinyl high-waisted mini skirt with a little zip closure up the front, which I had paired with a peachy pink shirt. I'd gone bra-less again today and worn a shirt with frill at the end of the sleeves. The shirt was a little sheer, but luckily not enough that anyone could see any nipple, so I was okay. It tied together tightly in the front, where I'd knotted it and let the excess fabric dangle. I'd then matched it with a matching peachy pink colored pair of ankle booties.
"It's cute if her plan is to potentially flash guys every time she moves." Ruby scoffed bitterly, giving me a look. Luke's lips twitched up from beside her and I frowned, unsure what I'd done to deserve this. "It probably is." He muttered, crossing his arms over his broad chest.
I sighed deeply and simply ignored them, sitting up straight in my chair. "Anyways," Scarlett said, glaring at Ruby and Luke before she looked at me, a smile now on her face. She lowered her voice when she spoke, wanting only me to hear her. "I've been thinking. How does a sleepover this weekend sound? At your house, I mean." She asked, cocking her head to the side curiously. "All of us. Even the guys." She grinned, clearly proud of her idea. I, however, was a little hesitant. "Even the guys?" I whispered to her, my eyes wide. "You mean...even Ruby and Luke?"
