6. Hope, Restored

(3rd Person P.O.V) He looked up to see a familiar silver haired ninja in the doorway, bags put down quietly next to him on the floor, looking completely heartbroken at the conversation he had walked in on as if he was at a loss of what to do to comfort the two males on his bed, he'd never felt the need to protect someone this much from the village he fought so hard to protect. Kurama motioned the ninja to come over and embrace their blond from the other side. Naruto was startled when he felt a second pair of arms embrace him; raising his head quickly he turned to see the owner, an attractive silver-haired male who looked at him with compassion who placed one hand carefully on his cheek, wiping the tears with a thumb. The male leaned in gently and placed a chaste kiss on the blond's other whiskered cheek, in a husky voice that echoed Naruto's pain he whispered, "None of this is your fault. You did not ask for any of this, love. You do not deserve any of this torture. Let us look after you, Naru, let us protect you. Let ME protect you.."

3rd Person P.O.V

"Kakashi is right, Naru, none of this is your fault." The red eyed Guardian spoke softly to the blond between them. "If anything, it is Minato-Sensei's fault for having too much faith that the villagers would see beyond their own hate and pain, or that they would recognise the difference between a kunai and the scroll that holds it." The weeping blond turned his head to the ninja when he felt another kiss on his cheek and looked at him doubtfully, "B-but I don't even know what I ever did to any of them! I d-did n-nothing to anyone- it wasn't m-my fault o-or e-even Kura's fault because he w-was being c-con-controlled by that damn U-uchiha! A-and I d-don't know who y-your s-sen-sei is e-either." Naruto stuttered around his tears. Kurama gently turned the blond, pushing him into the other man's arms so he was fully facing and embraced by the ninja before standing up to go fix some food, he didn't have to eat (though he did enjoy it) because he was essentially a demon-deity, a chakra beast, but he knew the two people on Kakashi's bed were both hungry and he wanted his kit to have privacy to bond with Kakashi more thoroughly. As he moved to the kitchen to prepare the food for them, the fox thought about what Naruto's transformation would mean for all of them. 

Kurama knew that, because he is a fox spirit Naruto would end up with a bonded mate, just as he also had a mate; but what he knew that the blond did not, was that the mate chosen for him was the silver-haired shinobi who had rescued his kit this time. The Nine-Tailed fox thought that he was going to have a very interesting time trying to explain to his kit and his kit's mate that this was the reason Naruto's body had matured to 19-20 while he was in his 3-day coma. While Naruto's body had grown and adjusted to the needs of his mate while he was unconscious so that he could be with his mate his mentality hadn't changed - he was still a 16 year old troublemaker! Kurama knew as well, that once his kit had mated and fully bonded with Kakashi, that the shinobi's ageing would slow down so he would have the lifespan similar to that of a half-breed demon...
