25. Surprises, Uh Oh

(Previously: 3rd Person P.O.V)"Kakashi and I are going to have babies." Naruto blurted out, then he hid his face in his wolf's chest, wrapping his arms tightly around the back of his lover - nervous at his friends reactions because he really wanted them to accept him for who he was, that he wouldn't have to pretend in front of them anymore... The blond hoped the other rookies would be accepting of him; that even though he was as human as they were, he wasn't as 'normal' as they were because he was the jailer of a demon who had destroyed the village 16 years before (albeit under the control of a super dangerous psycho, Uchiha Madara) and that because of this he was able to become pregnant and carry pups like all of the Jinchuuriki were able to, whether they were male or female...

3rd Person's P.O.V

There was no response for what felt like an eternity while what Naruto said was processed by each of the rookies present.. He stayed curled into Kakashi's side, afraid that his academy classmates would reject him. Hinata was the first to react, along with Ino, she threw her arms around both Kakashi and Naruto as she burst into happy tears. "I'm so happy for you, Naruto. Congratulations to both of you!!" Ino nodded in agreement. Shikamaru and Neji, Choji, Kiba and Sakura all gathered around the couple to give them hugs and to congratulate them.

Sasuke and Tenten were stunned, standing very still as if they'd been turned into stone, they were having the hardest time believing what they were hearing. "Come on dobe, tell us what's really going on. Don't pull pranks like this, it's not funny man." Sneered the raven, in almost complete denial that the Naruto he's known since they all went to the Academy together, could actually be pregnant - and to their Sensei of all people. A small part of him (that he refused to admit even existed) was also envious that it wasn't he who was fathering Naruto's babies. He'd secretly had a *small* crush on the blond knucklehead for a few years - not that he'd admit to ANYONE (not even himself) that he was unsure of his sexuality.

A solid slap landed on the raven's face. He stared in amazement at his elder brother, who was glaring at him with a scowl on his face. "What the actual fuck, Sasuke?" Growled the crow, "How dare you assume this is a joke? Would you say the same if it was me who was pregnant? Or Kurama? How dare you ruin this for them?" Itachi was fuming by now, standing over his younger brother who was made to take a few steps back, away from the angry crow. 

Sasuke frowned as he put a hand out in front of him to stop Itachi from advancing toward him; the information that anyone directly connected to the Kyuubi could get pregnant, be it the host or the spouse of the Kyuubi, "Wait, what..? Nii-san... You're telling me this dobe actually got himself knocked up by the second laziest ninja in Konoha? And it's not a prank?" Mass confusion was evident on his face. "Duh." Shikamaru rolled his eyes before proceeding to recite the lesson.

"You moron. We learned in class that Jinchuuriki are different from other beings. While they are mostly human like the rest of us, they're also more than human. 'Jinchuuriki take on traits of the biju they are holding. Biju are spiritual deities who are generally genderless, therefore when they take a mate or life partner, either of them can become pregnant and thus allowing them to reproduce. History shows that due to this fact, those we refer to as Jinchuuriki, have been found to be able to reproduce offspring regardless of gender or sexuality, and male Jinchuuriki tend to prefer a male mate. In history thus far, given that most Jinchuuriki are male this means that they will also be able to reproduce and the offspring will often display traits of the Biju that the Jinchuuriki carries.' This is also why Naruto has whisker marks on his cheeks. There was also other stuff about the jailer having a lifetime mate or soulmate and that if one of them dies, both of them will die, usually in less than a year of each other. The Jinchuuriki has powers like healing faster than normal people, having better hearing, eyesight, an eidetic* memory and is often stronger and faster than the best ninja we have recorded, but because there are only ever 9 biju there haven't been many studies because the jinchuuriki are usually shunned by their villages." Neji rubbed Shikamaru's shoulders and back in a soothing motion, noticing how worked up the lazy nin had gotten during the speech.
