“Mworageu?” (What did you say?) nanginginig ang boses niya, nanginginig sa inis.

“When the contract is over, say that again. Say that you will really never gonna date me.” i gulped.

Naiinis niya akong tinitigan, “Neo micheosseo? What for?” (Are you crazy?) she rolled her eyes. “Why does it matter to you? Neo hoksi.. na joahae?” (By any chance, do you like me?)

We're at the back stage waiting for the turn of Yoji's special performance together with Yannie and Maoui. That'd be our last performance here in Lon Angeles. Nasa gilid lang kami medyo malayo sa kanila para makapag usap kami ng maayos.

That made me blink a lot. “Y-yah! How could — How could you ask that w-without even thinking?!” Grabe. She's so unbelievable.

She just shrugged it off. “It's just weird na parang gusto mong pag isipan 'kong mabuti kung ayaw 'ko ba talaga na i-date ka o ano. I mean, does it bother you?”

Hindi ako nakasagot ng ayos sa kaniya. Napaiwas na lang alo ng tingin. It's not like I like her or what.. “W-wae? Ayaw 'ko lang na mapahiya ka! Paano kung pag tagal tagal, m-marealize mong gusto mo pala? Edi.. Edi mahihirapan ka pang umamin sa akin?”

She rolled her eyes for the nth time.

I stared on the ground for a moment, “Also, I didn't mean for you to think na.. hindi kita nakikita bilang babae..” i sighed. “So I want to make it up to you.”

“Para mag bago isip 'ko?”

“NO!” I immediately replied. “Ayaw 'ko lang na ganto tayo ngayon. Hindi nagpapansinan.. it' been weeks, tho.”

“Where's Yoji? Yoji! Yoji — Oh, there. Yoji! Tara na!” tawag ni Yannie sa kaniya pagkatapos niyang mahanap dito.

She glanced at me, “Ikaw bahala.” at saka siya tumakbo palapit kila Yannie at nag ready.

Napabuntong hininga na lang ako sa meron sa amin ngayon. Nakakabigla lang rin na bigla na ang kami naging awkward at walang pansinan simula nuong isumpa niya halos sa mukha 'ko na hinding hindi niya ako ide-date.

Nasa pinaka taas na stage siya lumabas. Kahit instrumental pa lang kanina ay ang lakas na ng naging sigawan.

We small-talk, work and the weather.
Your guard is up and I know why.” Sa gitnang stage sa baba naman lumabas si Maoui.

“Because the last time you saw me is still burned in the back of your mind.
You gave me roses and I left them there to die.” Sumunod ay sa taas sa gilid ng stage lumabas si Yoji.
