Elites Are Back Baby

Mikayla rushed to look at the notice on Flitwick's classroom door announcing the members of the Elites this year. A few people dropped out since they were doing their NEWTs or they wanted to focus on school, so Flitwick has spent the week recruiting new members. The notice read:

Draco Malfoy (5th Year Slytherin)
Brian Smirnov (6th Year Slytherin)
Fred Weasley (7th Year Gryffindor)
Gregory Munslow (6th Year Hufflepuff)
Eddie Carmichael (6th Year Ravenclaw)

Colin Creevey (4th Year Gryffindor)
Justin Finch-Fletchley (5th Year Hufflepuff)
Wayne Hopkins (5th Year Hufflepuff)

Girls:
Susan Bones (5th Year Hufflepuff)
Mikayla Black (5th Year Gryffindor)
Avery O'Brien (5th Year Slytherin)
Ginny Weasley (4th Year Gryffindor)
Pansy Parkinson (5th Year Slytherin)
Padma Patil (5th Year Ravenclaw)
Cho Chang (6th Year Ravenclaw)
Hannah Abbott (5th Year Hufflepuff)
Fay Dunbar (5th Year Gryffindor)

Mikayla rushed into the room, and took a seat in between Ginny and Avery as they waited for Flitwick to join them for Elites rehearsals. Flitwick rushed in with sheet music, he hands the pages to Mikayla, Hannah, Avery, and Cho. Before continuing to the the front, Mikayla looked at sheet music to see her song 'Move' split into four parts, "I wanted to see how smaller groups as Professor Umbridge believes twenty is too many for one song. She wants a mix of each house... so we'll have Mikayla, Cho, Avery, and Hannah as our first group today. Girls you have ten minutes to organise yourselves." Flitwick announced, Mikayla organised the band to play the instrumental, Hannah got the stage set up. Cho and Avery worked on the vocal arrangements of who was singing what. Then the four girls regrouped to run through the song a few times working on harmonies and confirming the vocal arrangement. Mikayla noticed unfriendly looks coming from Cho, who clearly didn't want to be put in the same group as the blonde. Mikayla excuses herself picking up her song book and heading over to Flitwick. "Um Professor, during the last month or so I've transitioned into more suitable songwriting for the Elites." Mikayla handed Flitwick the notebook, he began to flip through it, a smile appears on his face, "it's good to see the old Mikayla is back."

"Right let's Move girls!" Flitwick chimes making Mikayla smile at his use of the song title in his calling process. The girls make their way to the stage, Mikayla hands the band the sheet music and asks Brian to sing some backing vocals for them, which he quickly agrees to. She sat in between Ginny and Cho, finding Fred sitting in the second row with Wayne and Gregory. (Jade- Avery, Jesy- Hannah, Perrie- Mikayla, Leigh-Anne- Cho)

During the girls performance, Flitwick handed out sheet music to Fred, Draco, Wayne and Eddie. The girls voices moulded together really well, that once they were finished they got a standing ovation and had a little group hug. "That was brilliant girls!" Flitwick smiled clapping. "Next we'll have Fred, Draco, Wayne and Eddie. Ten minutes boys." Mikayla and Avery cleared the stage so the boys could set up what they needed to. Then the sisters returned to Ginny, and Mikayla thought it would be a good time to talk love life with the girls while the boys got ready. "So Ginny, how's everything going with Michael?" Ginny smiles, "they're good but..." she trails off, "he's not Harry?" Avery questions from the other side of Mikayla. Ginny looked stunned at the accusations, "you know?" Ginny sent daggers at Mikayla thinking she blabbed to Avery, Mikayla begins to drink some pumpkin juice as Avery clears everything up, "I see the way you look at him, it's the same way Mikayla looks at Fred." Mikayla spat pumpkin juice in the air out of surprise of Avery's words, her eyes wide as possible. "Sorry!" She calls to the people a few rows ahead of them that got covered in pumpkin juice. "What about you, Av? Any girls catch your attention..." Avery looked at her hands smiling, "spill please!" Mikayla and Ginny pouted to get the information out of Avery, "Um yeah, there's been this one girl that's caught my eye but I don't think she plays on my team." "Who is it?" Ginny asked, "Parvati Patil." Mikayla squealed excitedly causing a few heads to turn in her direction, "she likes you two." Mikayla rummaged through her bag finding the note her and Parvati passed during dinner after her performance. A big grin pulls onto Avery's face, Mikayla turns to Ginny, "so what are you going to do with Michael?" Ginny sighs, "I'm going to stay with him, as I said things are good and I think need a distraction from Harry." Mikayla nodded understanding what Ginny was trying to say/ what she's trying to do. "What are you going to with Fred?" Mikayla shook her head no, "nothing, when it came down to it he chose sex over me. And it's way too early for me to move on after Cedric, I know I said goodbye to him and he told me to find love, but I don't think that's what Fred wants..." this was the first time Mikayla has ever admitted to herself and others that that is how she feels. "Alright boys let's hear it!" Flitwick calls ending the girls conversation and allowing the boys to take the stage. (Left to right- Fred, Eddie, Draco, Wayne)

After the boys finished, some of the girls jumped up and cheered for the boys, including Mikayla and Avery. "Next up we'll have Susan, Ginny, Padma, Fay, Pansy" Flitwick gave them the sheet music, Ginny reluctantly left and joined her group. "What's with Cho giving you the stink eye?" Avery questioned once she knew she wasn't being overheard, Mikayla shrugged, "I don't know if it's about Cedric or Harry or both." Mikayla whispered in response, "wait Harry? Are you dating the boy who lived?" Mikayla quickly and violently shook her head no, "no, but I think that Cho thinks I'm tryna steal him from her, 'like I stole Cedric'" Mikayla air quoted, Avery rolls her eyes before they widened, "Fred approaching at your six o'clock." Mikayla straighten herself up before casually looking around, making eye contact with Fred as he got closer to her. "What did you think of the song?" Fred questioned, Avery noisily left as Fred took a seat next to Mikayla who smiled, "it was beautiful written, great job on the lyrics Fred." Mikayla smiled, that definitely didn't look like the answer Fred was looking for but he also looked relieved. "That's a big compliment coming from the one and only Mikayla Black." Mikayla and Fred laughed together at his joking praise towards the blonde. "So who's it about?" Brian asked taking a seat on the other side of Fred, this question caused Fred to spray water a couple of feet in front of him. Dowsing the boys in front of them in water, Mikayla laughed lightly standing up and performing the hot air charm, trying her fellow Elitest off. "And you're not going to ask her out?" Brian asked once Mikayla was just in ear range, "I hurt her Smirnov, she doesn't want me back." Fred argued, Mikayla wondered if they were talking about Valerie, she didn't want interrupt the bromance so she rejoined Avery who had abandoned her when Fred arrived. "Av, I need to catch you up on something." Avery nodded, the pair make their way over to a corner away from the others, Mikayla decided that Avery should know about what happened in Dumbledore's office. Before Avery could say anything, Flitwick called them all to take a seat and listen to the girls who were about to perform. (Susan as Dinah, Ginny as Camilla, Padma as Normani, Fay as Ally, Pansy as Lauren)

"The last ones to perform are Brian, Gregory, Marcus, Colin and Justin." Flitwick announced, Brian rushed over with the sheet music they were given to Mikayla, grabbing her hand and pulling her towards the group. Mikayla reads the title, of the song, "who wrote this?" She whispered to Brian, "Fred according to Flitwick." Mikayla nodded reading the lyrics, "Mikayla we need you to teach Colin and Marcus how to play this song on the guitar." Mikayla nodded, she grabbed three guitars giving one to Colin and one to Marcus. She looks at the sheet music, noticing there's two different guitar melodies. "Right Colin you first." Mikayla plays the melody, Colin watches her finger placements carefully, as she plays the boys figure out who is singing what part. They each try and sing the first part, "Justin, should take the first part." Brian announces, the group look at Mikayla for confirmation, she nods agreeingly. Mikayla was happy with Colin's melody, she moved on to help Marcus, as she taught him they decided that he should sing the second part and Gregory should sing the third part. "I want to hear them both play the guitar as you sing the first three parts, just to make sure it sounds right." As they got to the chorus, Mikayla added a third melody with her guitar to make it sound more natural. She closed her eyes trying to find what was missing from the instrumental element. "Can you teach Gregory that third melody?" Brian asked, Mikayla nodded, quickly teaching Gregory the chords and the flow of his melody. "Do any of yous know how to play the piano?" Mikayla looked up at them, they all shook their heads no, Mikayla nodded. They settled into who was doing the last two parts before Mikayla led them to the piano. They run through the song two more times, sorting out harmonies and whether they liked the instrumental with the voices. "Right boys let's here it." Mikayla stayed where she was at the piano as the boys took the stage, three of them holding guitars all of them sitting behind of mics. (Justin as Zayn, Marcus as Liam, Gregory as Louis, Brian as Harry, Colin as Niall)
