Last Hour

Fred and Mikayla came up with eight different potions ideas by the time Mikayla's break was over, "we'll start working on them after work." Mikayla promised Fred before returning to the shop floor, she noticed that Carra Curatio shelf was empty once again, she spun around and made her way back into the store room, she grabbed 150 bottles wrote them down in the stock book before going to the display. Once she filled the shelf, she was shoved causing her to fall and hit the ground, she slowly stood up to see that it was Alicia Spinnet that had knocked her over, "I'm so sorry Mikayla, someone had pushed me into you and I was trying catch who it was but I didn't." She admits, Mikayla laughs wiping down her apron, "it's all good Alicia." Alicia looked at the shelf Mikayla had just filled, "no way! You let the twins sell your potion?" She whisper asked, Mikayla laughed nodding, "yeah, I think that it's better that way, more people can be healed." Alicia nodded, "you couldn't point me in the direction of Self-propelling Custard Pies, I really want to get Lee back for using these on me." Alicia showed Mikayla a packet of Kissing Concoction, "course." She led Alicia to her desired location, "I will say, Lee knows most of the boys products, so I would suggest you changing its colour to orange so that it looks like a pumpkin pie to catch him off guard." Alicia thanked Mikayla for the help and her 'genius' idea, rushing off to the counter.

Mikayla was cleaning up the cauldrons that kids were puking into for testing the puking pastels, due to her age, she had to hand wash them in the sink in the staff bathroom. She was thankful for masks and gloves, since the masks blocked the smell and prevented Mikayla from puking everywhere. Once she had all 10 cauldrons spotless, she carried them down the stairs avoiding giggling kids running around, she weaved through the crowd dodging elbows, as she arrived at the sweet section. "Thanks, you and Avery's shift is over now." George informed Mikayla as he looked at his watch, "see you tomorrow." Mikayla beamed as she set the cauldron's down, grabbing her bag and hanging up her apron. "Av, it's time to go." Mikayla told her sister, Avery was behind the till once again, Mikayla looked around the shop for Verity, spotting her over at the WonderWitch section. "Ver, Avery and I are off now ok?" she nods smiling before heading for the till to let Avery off.

"Wait, Mikayla, Avery!" Fred's voice called once they reached the door, he hands them over a sack of golden coins, "that's 235 Galleons each, your percentage of the sale of 436 bottles of Carra Curatio." Mikayla's jaw almost hit the floor in shock of the amount of bottles they've sold already and how much they made with just 15% each. "Carra Curatio is a hit, I can't wait for the rest of our collabs." George smiled, Mikayla blushes lightly, "bye boys, and thanks." Avery smiled at them before she linked arms with Mikayla, and waved at the boys as the pair left.

"Rest of our collabs?" Avery questions as Mikayla leads her towards Slug & Jiggers, "yeah, you know when Fred summoned me?" "yeah?" "Well he wanted to know if I had invented anything else, because of how our first collaboration was doing, which I haven't. So during my break, we brainstormed some ideas of possible potions and I assured him, that me and you will figure it out. Since potions is one of our strongest subjects..." Avery beamed as she helped Mikayla pick up a wild variety of potion ingredients, they wanted some of everything, so out of the 280 possible potion ingredients, they were able to get 118 for 169 Galleons. They fit them all into Mikayla's little blue bag, before they rushed next door to Mr Mulpepper's Apothecary. They got 72 more ingredients, costing them another 51 Galleons. Lastly, they ran to the Apothecary on the North end of Diagon Alley, spending 100 Galleons on the last 90 ingredients. They split the expenses evenly costing each girl 160 Galleons.

Mikayla checked her watch to see it was half four, "alright let's head to Madam Malkin's before going home." Avery agreed with Mikayla plan as they walked across the street into the purple store. "AH, there's my two favourite ladies!" Madam Malkin chimes, once she looks up from the desk to see the girls. They laugh as they give her a hug hello, "we were just wondering if you still wanted us to be apart of your annual photoshoot?" Avery questions cutting straight to the chase, Malkin chuckles lightly, "yes, if you both are still up for it." her eyes shifts to Mikayla's, who was hiding her pain with a smile. "of course, I was also wondering if I could get a few friends model as well?" Mikayla admits, as she pulls out her song book to show Madam Malkin the song she wrote for this year's photoshoot. Malkin's eyes scan the words, Mikayla watches as a smile grows on the woman's face, "yeah of course, I was actually struggling getting models this year with everything going on." Avery and Mikayla nod understandingly, "it starts at 1 on the 18th of this month but all models are to be here at 10," the pair nodded once again. "We'll be there, and we'll make sure our friends are on time as well." Mikayla and Avery gave Madam Malkin a hug goodbye, before walking to the Leaky Cauldron.

"Hello Tom, how's business been?" Mikayla converses noticing the pub is a little emptier than usual, "not great Miss Black, but enough to keep this place running." Avery nods before asking the man for some Floo Powder, they give him a Galleon each, thanking him with a bit of a tip. The two girls pull on their travelling cloaks before stepping into the fireplace, "The Burrow, Ottery St Catchpole." The girls spoke quietly to prevent any strangers showing up at the Burrow, they were engulfed by green flames.
