Mending Past Conflicts

It wasn't long before Mikayla and Avery's shifts were over, Mikayla hugged her sister goodbye when they finished work as Parvati was collecting the brunette to bring her to her house. Avery was nervous of course, you know she's meeting Mr Patil for the first time. Mikayla decided to go to the Post Office, sending away all invitations to model for Madam Malkin. Alicia had come in to agree to model, Mikayla gave her the sheet music for the songs they'll be performing because she knew that Alicia was a brilliant singer. They talked for a while about random girly things, whilst Fred and George tried to convince Lee to work for them. Fred had told Mikayla that he wants to get more full-time workers in because they're a lot busier than expected.

As Mikayla was walking down Diagon Alley, she spotted a familiar face, Angelina Johnson. Mikayla felt this sudden guilt remembering Angelina got expelled from Hogwarts because of her, when Angelina made eye contact with the blonde, she excused herself from her family and skipped over to her, "MIKAYLA!" She pulled the blonde into a hug, Mikayla was very confused by this act of kindness towards her but hugged Angelina back. "Angelina, how are you?" Mikayla tried to hide her shock as she spoke, "great, amazing etc. I just wanted to apologise to you for all the hardship I caused you, it was rather childish." Mikayla brushes it off, "I never meant for you to get expelled, I'm so sorry." Angelina laughs at her apology, not in a malicious way but more as if it was something she had predicted.

"You're as sweet as you've always been. My actions were what got me expelled plus Ilvermorny was the right place for me anyways, did a lot of growing up there." Mikayla nodded, she noticed a resume in Angelina's hand, "oh are you applying for jobs?" Mikayla gestures to the parchment. "Yeah, I haven't decided what I want to be just yet so I'm just looking for a full-time fun job until I find my path." Mikayla smiled at the thought, and an idea curated in her brain. "I know the perfect place but first let's catch up." Mikayla holds out the bend in her arm, Angelina smiles and links arms with Mikayla and the pair make their way to get ice-cream.

After talking with Angelina for an hour, Mikayla found herself trusting the older girl easily. Mikayla told Angelina about being with Fred and Angelina made a comment about them being truly perfect for each other. "Honestly, I think you and George are better matched than you and Fred." Mikayla admits to Angelina, "how so?" Mikayla smiles as she looks at the girl blush, "well you are both good-looking, funny and level-headed people. I just think that you and Fred would clash a lot, where you and George would bounce off one another, if you know what I mean?" Angelina nods smiling down at her ice-cream as she admits that she does see her and George being more compatible with one another. "Well, there's this modelling gig in Madam Malkin's on the 18th... Avery and I are in charge of rounding up models, would you be interested?" Angelina squealed excitedly and gave Mikayla a hug of thanks.

"Right, as for that full-time job, I just happen to know two funny fellas looking for staff in a fun place." The two girls stop outside Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, Angelina seemed very nervous. "You got this okay?" "okay." The pair walked into the shop, arms linked and smiles of their faces. Mikayla gives Angelina a tour of the shop and Angelina admits that she would love to work for the twins. Mikayla waves the boys over once they make eye contact, the two boys looked confused as to why Mikayla and Angelina looked so friendly. "Fred, George, you remember my friend Angelina." Mikayla states the boys eyes widen before they smile obviously knowing the girls had made up. "Angelina is looking for a fun full-time job, so I suggested applying here." Angelina hands over her resume, the boys gesture to follow them to storeroom. The two girls follow them, Mikayla puts on her apron, informing them that she'll help Verity man the shop while they interviewed Angelina. "Take a deep breath and relax, you've got this." Mikayla whispers to Angelina, Angelina thanks the blonde for all the help.

Mikayla started restocking shelves and ushering customers to the products they were searching for. "Thanks for the help babe." Fred's voice comes from behind her, Mikayla spun around with a smile on her face, "anytime Freddie." The couple share a kiss, before standing next to one another watching George and Angelina talk animatedly to one another. "So when did you two get friendly?" Fred whispers as his arm cups Mikayla's shoulder and her arm wraps around his waist. "After my shift, she came up to me all happy, apologised for everything and we talked for a while. She's a nice girl." Mikayla admits smiling over at the interaction, "you're not just trying to set up a job for her are you?" Fred questioned, Mikayla pretended like she had no idea that Angelina and George would be cute together.

"They're good for one another, even if they don't know it just yet." Fred chuckles, looking down at the blonde, "cupid never sleeps huh?" Mikayla shook her head no, she gave Fred another peck before saying, "your mum will be wondering where I disappeared to." Fred walks Mikayla to the store, letting the blonde take off her apron and grab her bag for the second time today. "Did she get the job?" Mikayla questioned Fred, he nodded sending her a wink, Mikayla beams at the news. She waves goodbye to George and Angelina, Fred smiles down at the blonde, "goodbye love." "Goodbye bubs." Mikayla kisses Fred cheek before heading to the Leaky Cauldron.

When Mikayla appeared in the Burrow's kitchen, Molly pulls her into a hug, "Merlin, we thought a Death Eater grabbed you." Mikayla frowned but excepted the hug, "sorry, bumped into an old teammate and a new friend." Molly looked at her strangely, "you made up with Angelina then." Ginny's voice spooked Mikayla, causing her to jump violently, "how'd you know?" "Well you're already friends with Alicia, Fred, George and Oliver, so process of elimination." Mikayla smiled at Ginny's amazing detective skills.
