The End of Year Feast

Mikayla, Hermione, Ginny and Neville waited anxiously in the common room for Ron and Harry to come down the stairs for the end of year feast. They thought Ron might've had a better chance convincing Harry to go, but when Ron arrived alone at the bottom of the stairs, they knew they were wrong, as he shook his head no. This disappointed the whole group, as they all climbed out of the portrait hole. "It feels strange going without Harry..." Neville admits as they go down the marble staircase into the Entrance Hall, "Harry just needs time to process what dad's death means," Mikayla explained to the group and they walk into the Great Hall.

The hall was dressed in Red and Gold as Gryffindor had somehow ended up with the most amount points in the castle, even with Umbridge's will to destroy them. Mikayla, Ron, Ginny, Hermione and Neville took their seats across from Dean, Seamus, Lee, Alicia and Parvati. Mikayla greeted all of her friends with warm smiles before she noticed Alicia and Lee were holding hands, Mikayla gave them an approving nod, which caused the pair to blush uncontrollably making Mikayla chuckle lightly. "You finally accepted that you two are perfect for one another then?" Mikayla asked them in a whisper, Lee smiled widely, whilst Alicia smirked, "he can be quite romantic when he wants to be." Mikayla nodded sending Lee a prideful thumbs up.

Mikayla and Avery made eye contact across the room, the pair shared a smile and a wave, Avery scanned the table, clearing noticing Harry's absence. "You ok?" Mikayla read Avery's lips, she shook her head no, before responding, "but I will be," Avery smiled, before Daphne Greengrass pulled her into a conversation, Mikayla just watched her sister converse as she ate her dinner. Half way through the meal, she was pulled into a conversation with Lee and Alicia about Quidditch, according to Alicia, she was told by McGonagall that Mikayla and Harry will be back on the team in September. This was great news for Mikayla, she had missed quidditch a lot and it also reminded her that she has to collect her broom from the dungeons. Then Mikayla was pulled into Parvati and Lavender's conversation about when they'll be getting their exam results, "Mam told me that it's usually the second Saturday of July." Seamus told them as he chipped into the conversation, "I don't know if I want my results anymore." Neville chuckled, "I'm sure you've done amazingly, Nev." Mikayla smiled at him giving him a side hug of comfort, "thanks, M." Mikayla nodded accepting his thanks

Sprout tapped her spoon off her glass, causing a chime to spread around the room and silence to fall. She was subbing as Dumbledore's Deputy whilst McGonagall is still in St. Mungo's, Dumbledore stood up at the chime of the spoon hitting the glass and held out his arms as he spoke, "Another year gone. And now, as I understand it, the house cup needs awarding. In fourth place, Slytherin with 400 points. Third place, Hufflepuff with 434 points. In second place, Ravenclaw with 451 points. And in first place with 489 points, Gryffindor house. Gryffindor wins the house cup." Everyone clapped celebrating and congratulating the Gryffindors, apart from the Slytherins of course, but Brian and Avery clapped sending Mikayla thumbs up as she hugged Hermione congratulations.

Once the clapping had stopped, Dumbledore asked for silence once more, "I would like to introduce Hogwarts' Elites Choir, singing a song written by our very own Miss Mikayla Black, called 'This Is Me'" Ginny got up from next to Mikayla and rushed to the front, Mikayla watched as the other members came from every direction, taking their place. (Soloists {in order of appearance}: Padma-Roxy, Wayne- Philip, Pansy- Amanda, Fay- Aykiyah, Ginny- Sarah, Avery- Ashley)

Mikayla jumped off her seat as she clapped for the performers, she watched as they bowed, before rushing back to their tables. Flitwick picked up a mic as the hall watched people set up a keyboard and mic stand, "I would like to ask that Mikayla Black would come up here and sing her song 'Rise Up'." Everyone's head turned to Mikayla who looked extremely confused, Ginny nudged her telling her to go up there and belt out the song. Mikayla got up and slowly rushed towards the steps near the teacher's table. "What's this about Professor?" Mikayla whispered to him as he handed her the mic, "this is your welcome back to the Elites." Mikayla beamed at Flitwick's news, she rolled her shoulders back, as she watched Brian take a seat behind the keyboard, "why didn't you warn me?" she whispers in his ear, Brian began chuckling, "it was funny seeing the confusion on your face." Mikayla scoffed before she stepped in front of the mic, "Three, two, one." She whispers towards Brian before she began singing.

Mikayla took Brian's hand as the pair bowed, receiving a round of applause, they shared a smile before parting ways to return to their house tables, Mikayla sat down in between Ron and Ginny. "That was amazing!" Lavender squealed, causing Mikayla to flinch as the others laughed at the blonde's reaction, "thanks, Lav." Mikayla sent her a sweet smile.

Mikayla attention was then drawn by Dumbledore dismissing the school, wishing them good summers and reminding them that the only way for them to win the War they'll be facing it together. There was a simultaneous scrapping of the house benches scrapping off the floor as the whole school stood up in sync to leave the Great Hall. Mikayla linked up with Hermione and Ginny once again, holding on to the two girls as they weaved through the crowd. "I can't believe that we leave tomorrow..." Ginny sighed as they made their way up the marble staircase, "at lease we have two months of no homework or classes, just parties and quality time." Mikayla smiled bumping the girls with her hips, causing the three of them to stumble and Mikayla to fall all the way to the floor.

"Pffft!" Mikayla bursted into a fit of laughter as she stayed on the floor, when Ginny and Hermione tried to help her up, Mikayla pulled them onto the floor. They were in a dog pile laughing maniacally, rolling around on the ground, holding their sides in stitches and tears of laughter. Neville and Ron helped Ginny and Hermione up, before Neville moved to help Mikayla up as well, Mikayla took his hand and allowed him to help her off the ground. "Thanks, Nev." Mikayla smiled, just before she heard a shout come from behind her calling her name.

Mikayla spun around to see Brian Smirnov running towards her, Mikayla pulled a smile onto her face. "Hey Brian, what's up?" Brian looked at the others Mikayla was with before smiling, "I wanted to invite you guys to my Seventeenth on the 19th of July, it'll be at my house in Belfast." Mikayla cocked an eyebrow, since she didn't know where his house is, but Brian handed over a piece of parchment. "Oh could you invite Harry too? it might be good for him to be a normal teenager for once." Mikayla promised he'd invite him, Brian told her to send him a letter in whether the Weasley's would allow them to go. "Oh and the twins are invited, if they're not too busy in the shop." Ron stepped next to Mikayla once Brian's hand settled on her right shoulder, "we'll let you know Smirnov," taking the hint Brian removed his hand, said his goodbyes and the group continued their journey to their dorms.
