Ron let go as Ernie spoke up, "He was bluffing, he can't be allowed to dock points... that would be ridiculous... It would completely undermine the prefect system..." They all turned instinctively toward the massive hourglasses mounted on the wall which held count of the points. Sure enough, they watched as thirty-five stones flew out of Gryffindor's. "I do think the last five was worth it," Mikayla joked, but she was still sad they'd just lost the tie for the lead. The Slytherin hour glass hadn't changed all day, interestingly enough. Part of her expected Gryffindor to pull through and win like they always do, but with Dumbledore gone they might as well give up now. "Noticed, have you?" said Fred as he physically inserted himself into their small group. "Malfoy just docked us all about fifty points," fumed Harry. Stones continued to fly out of their hourglass.   "Yeah, Montague tried to do us during break," nodded George. "What do you mean, 'tried'?" said Ron suspiciously. "He never managed to get all the words out," answered Fred, "due to the fact that we forced him headfirst into that Vanishing Cabinet on the first floor."   Hermione's eyes widened. "But you'll get into terrible trouble!" "Not until Montague reappears, and that could take weeks, I dunno where we sent him," said Fred with a smirk. "Anyway... we've decided we don't care about getting into trouble anymore." "Have you ever?" Mikayla said with a laugh. " 'Course we have," George nudged her. "Never been expelled, have we?"

"We've always known where to draw the line," said Fred. "We might have put a toe across it occasionally," added George. "But we've always stopped short of causing real mayhem," said Fred. "But now?" said Ron cautiously. "Well, now-" George winked. "- what with Dumbledore gone-" said Fred. "- we reckon a bit of mayhem -" said George. "- is exactly what our dear new Head deserves," said Fred. "You mustn't!" urged Hermione. "You really mustn't! She'd love a reason to expel you!"   "You don't get it, Hermione, do you?" Fred threw an arm around her shoulders. "We don't care about staying anymore. We'd walk out right now if we weren't determined to do our bit for Dumbledore first. So anyway," he glanced at his watch, "phase one is about to begin. I'd get in the Great Hall for lunch if I were you, that way the teachers will see you can't have had anything to do with it."   "Anything to do with what?" asked Hermione anxiously.  "You'll see," grinned George. "Run along, now."

"I don't think I want to see," Mikayla said anxiously as they disappeared into the flood of students on their way to lunch. "I think we should get out of here, you know," Hermione suggested. "Just in case.." "Yeah, all right," said Ron, Harry and Mikayla nodded agreeing with their bushy haired friend. They all started moving toward the Great Hall with everyone else. Just before Harry got the chance to sit down Filch appeared behind him and tapped on his shoulder, scaring him. "The headmistress would like to see you, Potter," he said menacingly. "I didn't do it," Harry said quickly, Mikayla put her head in her hands and sighed. Filch laughed silently, the loose skin on his face moving in an unsettling manner. "Guilty conscience, eh?" he wheezed. "Follow me...." Harry turned back to look at them, for a second Mikayla could feel the words being carved into her hand again and she worried for him. "Do you think we should save him a plate? With his luck, he'll miss all of lunch." Mikayla said when he got out of the Great Hall. Ron was already eating and just shrugged. "It'd be a nice gesture," Hermione said, portioning her plate very carefully, unlike Ron. "What'd you think she wants with him?" Hermione asked,  "I dunno, maybe she's going to punish him for the D.A." Ron said with his mouth full of food.  "No, Harry said Dumbledore took full responsibility for it, remember? And besides, if she was going to punish people she'd figure out who all was involved so she can get them all at the same time." Mikayla started making another plate, for Harry.

Not twenty minutes into lunch a loud BOOM sounded somewhere in the castle, the hall went quiet and everyone looked up. "Fred and George." The girls looked at one another as they spoke at the same time. Ron on sat there nodding while taking a large drink from his cup. A number of people had gotten up and crowded the exit to see what was going on and some teachers had risen and were watching in confusion. Suddenly, fireworks of all colors started flying in through the doorway, the once silent room was now filled with cracks and pops and the excited shouting and cheering of hundreds of students. Mikayla glanced back up at the staff table, McGonagall sat back down and continued eating. From the look on her face, she could tell she was thinking 'Not my problem.' "Dinner and a show?" Mikayla laughed, getting out of her seat to go see the mass chaos the twins created. Ron and Hermione followed, a spring in their steps.

Fred and George somehow kept it up for the rest of the day, this kept Umbridge on her feet, running from classroom to corridor to take care of any new stray fireworks. The teachers, on the other hand, were having a field day. They enjoyed seeing Umbridge as a scattered mess as much as the students did. The Gryffindor common room basically held a parade in Fred and George's honor. They were absolute heroes, and everyone had swarmed around them to either try and buy some of their fireworks or just praise them. The foursome found a corner to hide out in and rest for a moment, then Hermione decided she was going to try and fight her way through the crowd to congratulate them. When she returned she suggested they'd take the night off from homework, no one had even attempted doing anything in the time she was gone. Ron made a smart remark along the lines of, "Are you feeling alright?"
