Broken Contract

Hermione told Mikayla that night what she had orchestrated with Harry, Rita and Luna, "it's probably a good thing you didn't come, because Fergal might try something if you did." Mikayla just nodded, she was slightly upset about the situation because as painful as it was to experience it, maybe talking about it would help her move on.

"Can't wait to see what Umbridge thinks of you going public," Dean sounded awestruck at the information Harry just told him. "It's the right thing to do, Harry," a pale looking Neville added saying it must be tough talking about it. "Yeah, but people have got to know what Voldemort's capable of, haven't they?" Neville agreed, Mikayla has stayed silent the whole meal, her thoughts manifesting her very being as regret of taking that deal with Fergal, which she had no idea he had broken during Christmas. "Kay can I talk to you?" Mikayla nodded following her sister out of the Great Hall and into Myrtle's bathroom. "There's something I need help with..." her voice was shaking slightly, "Dad... he um, turns out he's not okay with me being gay." Mikayla's heart stopped slight, "what do you mean Av?" Avery lifted up her school shirt revealing a ugly scar, Mikayla saw red, "What did he do to you?" She examined the scar, "he got drunk, Lucius was over and told him 'the dark lord' doesn't approve of his daughter. So he smashed a bottle and sliced me with it. Saying I'm going to be straight or dead." Mikayla looked up as if she just got slapped across the face but all she did was hug her sister, "why not tell me until now?" Mikayla asked in the crook of Avery's neck, "I didn't want to admit that I was weak. He sent me this letter." Mikayla took the letter off Avery.

Your mother will most definitely be joining us from the summer onwards. You will marry the Crabbe boy once you're of age and you will bare his children.
Fergal

"I'm going to kill him. We had a deal." Avery looked stunned at this information, "what kind of deal?" Mikayla's eyes widened, "he wouldn't hurt you if I didn't out him as a Death Eater. But that doesn't matter, we need to get you out of that house by the summer. I'll figure something out." Mikayla gave her sister a quick hug before heading to the headmasters office, "Fizzing Whizzbee." Mikayla wraps the door, "come in Miss Black." Mikayla didn't want to question how Dumbledore knew it was her. "Sir, Avery can't go back to the O'Brien Manor." Dumbledore looked like he already knew this information, "Peppy came to see me, she's been spying on Fergal for me." Mikayla handed him the letter Fergal had sent Avery. Dumbledore read it, he looked perplexed, "Sir, I won't let her go back there, even if it costs me. She's family." Dumbledore nodded, "I'll talk to the Order tonight, I want both of yous to be here Monday afternoon ok?" Mikayla agreed to Dumbledore's request.

The foursome entered the Great Hall for breakfast at exactly the same moment as the post owls on Monday morning. Hermione was not the only person eagerly awaiting her Daily Prophet, nearly everyone was eager for more news about the escaped Death Eaters. Hermione gave the delivery owl a Knut and unfolded the newspaper eagerly while Harry helped himself to orange juice. Harry has only received one this year so when the first owl landed in front of him, he thought it was a mistake. Mikayla received two letters, one from Fergal and one from Luna's Dad, Xenophilius Lovegood. She excused herself, the letters in her hand as she rushed out of the Great Hall. Mikayla sat down in the Courtyard hidden under a tree, she tore open the letter she got from Fergal O'Brien.

Miss Black,
I have been informed that you have become aware of my breaking of a contract. Which gives you permission to reveal the truth through the media as your friend Potter did yesterday. Dumbledore has approached me to inform me that Avery has been taken out of my care due to abuse. I shall see you soon Mikayla and when I see you next, I will take everything away from you, as you did me!

Mikayla ignored Fergal's threat moving onto Xenophilius letter...

Dear Mikayla Black,
You may not know me but you know my daughter Luna. And you may be aware that your friend Mr Harry Potter has done an interview about the night Lord Voldemort returned. I have gotten letters from our readers in hopes of hearing your side of the event ASAP. Would you be up for being interviewed by Mrs Skeeter in the Three Broomsticks, Tomorrow night at 7?

Mikayla rushes to the owlery, calls Selene to her side as she writes a quick letter, accepting Xenophilius Lovegood's offer. Telling him that I'll meet Rita and that I'm ready to share my side of the story. I return to the Great Hall to see Umbridge catching a copy of the Quibbler. Mikayla rushes over, "When did you do this?" Umbridge asked Harry with a trembling voice. Harry informed her he did it last Hogsmeade trip and Umbridge informed him that he'll have no more Hogsmeade trips. "Excuse me Professor, but even as High Inquisitor you don't have the authority of taking Harry's Hogsmeade privileges once they were signed by his guardian. Only the Headmaster has that power." Mikayla spoke up giving Umbridge a little lesson in her authority. She looked at the blonde with death swirling in her soulless eyes. "And where were you when Mr Potter was doing this interview Miss Black?" Professor McGonagall came into view, "Miss Black was at quidditch practice, Dolores." Mikayla could see a small smirk on McGonagall's face, Umbridge scolded the blonde. "You'd want to be careful Miss Black, I don't think Gryffindor could survive another player being banned." McGonagall looked like she was about to punch Umbridge but Mikayla just smiled at the toad like Professor, "Don't worry Professor, I know exactly what I'm doing. Now if you'll excuse us, we have class to get to."

As they made their way to History of Magic, Mikayla asked Harry to borrow his invisibility cloak and the Marauders Map tomorrow night as she has an interview with Rita. "What about the deal with Fergal?" Mikayla showed them the note Fergal had sent her, "he hurt Avery?" Ron whispered shocked at the new information, "what did her do?" Mikayla cleared her throat, "it's not my place to say Ron..." they entered Professor Binns classroom, taking their usual seats and survived boredom.
