Change in Heart

Mikayla was sitting under the Beech tree in the courtyard, her nose shoved into Achievements in Charming to refresh it in her mind before her and Hermione have a little revision quiz, that Flitwick curated for homework, although he said that they didn't have to take it like a quiz, Hermione and Mikayla decided it would be good practice for their OWLs. She was revising on the theory of the Mending Charm, before a figure blocked her sunlight. Mikayla took her eyes from the book, to see Cho towering over her, Mikayla looked at the girl confused, offering her a seat next to her. "No I won't sit. I need to talk to you." Cho came off a little agressive to Mikayla who placed her book in her bag before standing up to be face to face with Cho. "What's this about?" Mikayla questioned politely trying to prevent a brawl in the courtyard. "You stealing all the guys I want." Mikayla looked at Cho confused as to what she was implying, "First Cedric, who I almost ended up with until Fred dumped you." Mikayla nodded a little hurt at Cho choice of words and tone. "And now Harry." Mikayla choked on Cho's words. "Harry and I just friends Cho. That's all we'll ever be." Mikayla stared going to walk away from the girl before being grabbed by the arm, forcing her to face Cho. "You don't act like friends, do you like him just because he likes me?" Mikayla looked stunned at the accusations Cho was coming out with. "Harry is one of my best friends, I love him like a brother and nothing more. Now take your hands off me before we have a problem." Mikayla looked down where Cho's hand was, that didn't move.

"You're a bitch, you know that right? That was a horrible trick you did with that sign up sheet." Cho spat at Mikayla, who began to laugh, "Thanks by the way for inviting a snitch to our meeting." Mikayla spat back, pulling her arm away from Cho, causing the sixth year to stumble slightly. "Marietta is a nice girl who made a mistake." Mikayla laughed in disbelief, "a mistake is an act or judgement that is misguided or wrong. Marietta did it on purpose. She wanted us to get caught, so she'd be on Umbridge's good side and save her Mam's job." Mikayla was inches from Cho's face before a slap fell against her cheek. Mikayla gasped in shock of Cho's actions, "how dare you say that about Marietta?!" Cho spoke angrily, whilst Mikayla was counting down from ten in her head to calm herself down. "Say what? The truth. I thought you Ravenclaws were supposed to be geniuses not bloody bitchy idiots!" Cho swung for Mikayla again, this time Mikayla ducked and Cho missed.

"I'm not going to fight you Chang." Mikayla stepped away from the girl, staying out of arms reach. Cho seemed to attract a crowd when she lunged at Mikayla who moved out of the way before getting tackled. "Come on Black, fight me like the bitch you are." Cho shouted, "MISS CHANG." McGonagall yelled grabbing Mikayla's attention and earning her a punch to the face. "That's it." Mikayla spun around to Cho's back and shoved her on the ground. "Stay down." Mikayla whispered to her, Cho however didn't listen and when she went to strike Mikayla again, Mikayla grabbed her wrist and held her arm behind her back and between her shoulder blades. "Calm down please." Before Mikayla could let go Cho head butted her in the nose and spun tripping Mikayla and causing her to hit the ground. "Episkey." Mikayla mumbled fixing her nose. All she saw was red, she tackled Cho to the ground. The girls started spinning and hitting one another. Each screaming at each other, calling one another names, Cho pulled Mikayla's hair which resulted in Mikayla blackening her eye. Cho flipped them over so that she was straddling Mikayla, she grabbed Mikayla's head and slammed it off the ground. Mikayla rolled them over, and returned Cho's gesture. Suddenly Mikayla was pulled off Cho, and immediately relaxed whilst Cho tried to break out of Fred's arms. Mikayla turned to see that it was in fact Draco Malfoy who had restrained her, her heart and stomach sank when she saw Cho lips attached to Fred's. Fred was kissing Cho back, there was a gasp and a shatter, that Mikayla imagined. Mikayla pulled from Draco's grip, grabbed her belongings and stormed out of the courtyard, unable to watch the scene anymore, and she made her way to Myrtle's Bathroom. She heard people calling her name but she just ran faster to get away from followers.

She hid in the bathroom as she applied her healing potion, to the scratches and bruises on her face. She heard people walk past, gossiping about the recent fight. "I saw the whole thing, Cho thinks Mikayla is after Harry." one voice said, "I don't blame her for being worried, they're really close." Another voice sounded, Mikayla sighed sliding down on the bathroom floor, before Myrtle came into view. "You look a lot better than that Ravenclaw girl Mikayla. You definitely won the fight." Myrtle speaks rather proud of Mikayla's actions. "I can't believe she kissed your man!" Myrtle reminds Mikayla of the heartbreaking moment. "Fred's not my man anymore, hasn't been for a long time." Mikayla mumbled staring up at the corner, she felt like she was in a million broken pieces, and she hasn't felt like that since what happened in the Graveyard. "Ugh, I'm such an idiot." Mikayla groaned, kicking a nearby bin angrily. The was a sound of the bathroom door opening, in walked Draco Malfoy, Mikayla looked up at the blonde before standing up and heading over to the mirror, she began to apply the potion to the back of her head. "What's that?" Draco asked pointing to the vial in Mikayla's hand. "My potion." Mikayla spoke without giving Draco any information. Eventually she took a seat against the cold wall.
