Redemption Mission (pt 3 of 4)

Catra's POV:
* 4 days after Catra got beat*

Asami and I have gotten a little closer, shes been telling me about this girl named Korra thats shes fallen for. Adora and I have been working on reconstructing some of the town but she relieved me of my duty against my will because she didnt want me to get injured anymore. "So tell me, this Adora isnt she the one that came with you?". I nod and smile before saying , "Yep". Asami hits my shoulder and asks loudly, "Do you like her?!". My eyes widen and I cover her mouth and whisper, "Keep it down!". Asami chuckles and slaps my hand away from her mouth and asks quieter, "Do you like her?".

I felt my cheeks becoming hot and shook my head violently, "I-I dont. I dont like her. Sh-She doesnt even look at me as my friend".  Asami smirks and pokes my cheek, "You like her". I narrow my eyes and point at her, my ears, hair, and tail sticking up and I felt heat trailing up my neck, the tips of my ears, and cheeks. "I do not!". Asami chuckles and says, "Uh huh, thats why you're blushing". I growl and yell frustratedly, "IM NOT BLUSHING!". I pout frustratedly at Asami as she dies of laughter. "NOT FUNNY!". I felt a tap on my leg and whirl around and look down at the culprit.

I raise a brow when I see a little boy pulling at my pants. "M-Miss? Thewes twouble hewe". My brows furrow and I crouch down to face the kid and ask, "Whats wrong kiddo? What trouble?". The boy starts tearing up and says, "Hawu and S-She-Wa left town and thewes a fiwe". My eyes widen and I look around, seeing smoke arise from a huge building. I nod and say, "Okay kiddo, stay here with Asami. I'll rescue the townspeople". The kid nods and I pick him up gently and hand him to Asami. "Go get'em tiger!", I hear Asami yell from behind me.

I chuckle to myself before I jumped onto the roofs of some buildings and made my way towards the smoke. Once I got close I jumped off the roof, did a little backflip before landing on my knee. I ran over the burning building to see a crowd form around it. "Its the Horde captain!" "Why is she here?" "Wheres She-Ra and Haru?". I hear people murmur around me. I sigh and run a hand through my hair and was about to ask whats the problem when I heard a baby crying. Then multiple children crying. Oh jeez dont tell me there were children in there!

My eyes widened and I ran through the crowd, smirking to myself when they separated from me giving me a clear chance to get into the burning building. I jumped up and took my claws out, breaking into a window and rolling inside. The hut was filled with smoke and I had to use my tail to cover my mouth and nose. "Help! Help us!", I hear a bold voice yell and run towards it. My eyes widening when I saw a bunch of kids, including that one goat woman's kid bunched together and trapped in by some fallen wooden planks. I growl and start taking the barricade that was trapping the kids off, lifting the planks over my shoulder and throwing them into the middle of the hut. Once there was a big enough hole I jumped through it maneuvering my body around so I didnt get stuck.

"Hey kiddos, I know your parents don't exactly trust me right now and you might not either-". I was interrupted by another plank falling from the roof on fire. I shake my head and say, "it doesnt matter, you're going to have to trust me ok?". The kids look at me desperately and nod. I smile and gently grab some of the little ones holding them to my side and letting them climb onto my back.. "Ok little ones, hold on to me tight", I say as I get a running start and propel myself up over the barricade and towards the window I broke in through. I see desperate parents running towards the window, grabbing their children from my grasp sobbing and wailing.

I run back into the hut, dodging the embers and falling planks before jumping over the barricade again and grabbing some more kids and getting them out. After I went back and forth three times there was only one kid left, a little girl with black hair but they looked about 12 years old. "Hey kid, its time to go", I say gently putting a hand on her shoulder. She looked up, tears in their eyes and say, "I-I cant, I left my mothers bracelet in here. I-Its the only thing I have left of hers". I nod and say, "Ok kiddo, lets compromise here because we dont have long till this building collapses on us. How about I get you out and go back in to get your bracelet". She looks up at me, bright blue eyes shining just like Adora's when she was happy and she says, "Really? Y-You would do that? Arent you a Ruthless Horde Captain?". I sigh and say, "Yeah, Im trying to change for the best".
