The Heart (pt 1 of 2)

Bow's POV:

My heart broke for both Adora and Catra because I knew it hurt Catra having to see Adora risk herself. And I know it hurt Adora having to go through Catra leaving her again. I knew Catra was only protecting herself and trying to do the best for Adora but it hurt watching the inter action between them.

Glimmer and I held Adora as she sobbed into our embrace. "What happened hun?", Glimmer asks softly. Almost cautiously. As she ran a nimble hand up and down Adora's back, helping her calm down and regain any composure that she might have. "C-Catra left", Adora says in a wavering voice, her hurt evident in the way her voice broke at the end.

I sigh and hug her tighter and say, "Catra left for your own good ok? She didnt leave because she didnt want to be with you or be around you. She left because maybe it hurt her both physically and emotionally to watch you carry the burden of saving the world on your shoulders. That could be it, ok Adora? She'll come back". Adora sniffles and looks up at me with watery eyes and asks shakily, "H-How do you know?". I smile and wipe away her tears with my thumb and say, "She cares about you. Even someone who's blind could see that. She'll come back. Ok?".

Adora nods and Glimmer flashes me a proud grin and I wink at her making her blush before we helped Adora stand up. "I need to go to Light Hope's temple. Thats where the heart will be. Im guessing that Prime's already planning his move. So I need to go fast", Adora says, drying her tear stained cheeks, straightening her back, rolling her shoulders and looking at Glimmer and I with determination in her icy sapphire eyes.

I scoff and wrap an arm around Glimmer and say, "I? What is this 'I' talk Adora? We'd be damned to let you go alone. We're the fucking Best Friend Squad! Wherever you go, Glimmer and I will follow". Glimmer nods and takes both Adora's and I's hands in hers, squeezing softly and saying, "We're with you Adora. We will have your back 100% of the way. We dont care if you dont want us to go with you because WE ARE GOING whether you like it or not. Why? Because we're the Best Friend Squad and we're fucking AMAZING at quests ok? So we're going with you".

Adora chuckles wetly before hugging us both tightly before pulling back and saying, "Very well, we also need Entrapta and the others to attack the spires. We need to un-chip all the other princesses and people to be able to take on Prime". I nod and say, "Once you and Glimmer get to the temple, I'll lead Entrapta and the rest to the spire. We need to tag team this ok?". Adora nods and says, "I agree, thats the best option. What do you say Glimmer?". Glimmer nods and says, "I agree, we need to compartmentalize and prioritize un-chipping everyone who was chipped and getting you to the heart and shutting it down. This is important. We cant have anything or anyone get in our ways ok?".

Adora and I look at eachother before narrowing our eyes in pure determination and looking back at Glimmer and nodding in approval. Glimmer smirks and stretches her hand out in the air and summons her father's staff before looking at me and saying, "Get Entrapta in and out. Ok? Come back to us Bow". I smile and say, "I will your majesty, have faith in my abilities". Adora squeals and starts jumping up and down like an excited little kid and asks, "Is Glimbow a thing now?! FUCK YEAHHHHHHHh!". Glimmer and I look at eachother before looking at Adora and rolling our eyes.

Glimmer smacks Adora upside the head making her wince and rub the back of her head before Glimmer sighs and says, "Focus Adora, Jesus christ". I chuckle and put a hand on Adora's shoulder and say, "You two take care of each other. Dont let this one", I point at Glimmer and look back at Adora and continue, "do anything stupid ok? You two better come back to me or I swear-", Adora chuckles and flicks my forehead and says, "Hey hey hey! Now you're doubting our abilities". I roll my eyes and rub my forehead before smiling and saying, "We've got this you guys. Now go! Go to that temple. I'll round up the princesses and get Entrapta".
