The Risks That Were Made

Catra's POV:

I woke up to see a sleeping Adora on my shoulder. I smile and run a hand through her blonde locs. "Good morning princess", I whisper against her head before she moves in her sleep and her blue orbs are looking into mine. "Good morning Catra". I sigh and my eyes widen when I felt something soft and warm on my lips. That's before I remember the feeling of Adora's lips on mine felt like. I close my eyes and take in the feeling of kissing her. I sigh and open my eyes when she pulls back. "You know, thats still so new to me", I say looking at her with a smirk.

Adora smiles and moves on my lap, wrapping her arms around my shoulders and saying innocently , "What is?". I chuckle and grab her chin gently tilting it up and pressing my lips against hers gently. I felt my chest fill up with something warmth. Something I've never felt before. Adora sighs against my lips and I smile. We pull back and she puts her forehead against mine, looking me in the eyes and saying breathlessly, "Yeah, you're right its still very new but very very amazing". I smile and go to kiss her again until the door opened.

Adora squealed and jumped off my lap, landing on the floor. I chuckled only for her to give me a death glare. My eyes widened and I rubbed the back of my neck looking away from her and whistling. "Princess Adora. Catra. Queen Glimmer needs your assistance". Adora and I look at each other before looking at the guard. "What is wrong?", Adora asks getting up and rubbing her butt. The guard sighs and says, "The Horde is laying siege to Brightmoon". My eyes widen and I jump up making my way towards the door before saying behind my shoulder, " I'll go Adora. They think I've been imprisoned. I'll go and tell them to lay back on their attack. They'll listen to me".

Adora grabs my hand, halting me where I stand and looks at me exasperatedly saying, "no! Are you insane?! Im She-Ra! Im a warrior princess! I can handle the Horde! What if they hurt you? What if they capture you?". I sigh and turn around putting my hand on the hand she had on my hand and say softly, "Do you trust me Adora?". She thinks a bit before saying, "Yep, I trust you". I grin and say confidently, "Then let me go Adora, I'll handle the Horde. I'll be back shortly". Adora nods and lets go of my hand. I look at the guard and they nod, putting a hand on my back and saying, "Lets go".

I run out of the room along the guard and down to where the attack was playing out. I turn to the guard and say, "Whatever happens, do not let Adora out of that room. I have some of Scorpia's paralytic venom in my room. If she tries to resist, tag her with a sleeping dart with that paralytic. She wont be able to resist and she'll fall fast asleep. Take care of her ok?". The guard nods and makes their way back inside the castle. I run onto the battle field and I saw Sparkles and Lover Boy and along with Planty and Frosty fighting off the Horde. "Catra! Oh good you're here!", Sparkles says before she looks at me and her eyes widen, "Wait wheres Adora?". I smirk and join them. "Adora's resting. I've got it from here Sparkles. Stand back, I'll speak to them". Sparkles looks at me like Im insane. Lover Boy puts a hand on my shoulder and asks worriedly, "Catra, what are you going to do?". I chuckle and take his hand off my shoulder and say, "My my, ye of little faith. I can handle this. Dont get in the way. Either of you, I have a plan".

I step away from both of them and make my way to the line of fire, dodging the beams of the tanks and the lasers that Horde troops were firing at me. I stand in between the Horde's armadas and Brightmoon. "Stop!", I bark out and before I knew it, they stopped firing. "Stop your siege on Brightmoon and go back to the Fright Zone". There was a hiss and thats when I see Lonnie pop out of the tank. "Catra where the hell have you been? We've been worried sick!", Lonnie says angrily.

I sigh and say, "Lonnie, you have to leave this place. We are all in grave danger. If we continue this fight amongst ourselves we wont be able to go up against Horde Prime. We need to be united. As much as I hate to say it". Lonnie looks at me in shock and says shakily, "No. dont tell me you've been Compromised! L-Like Adora". I sigh and say, "Stop the siege and turn back. No more of this Lonnie". Lonnie chuckles and says, "You see I would love to but I cant. So I'll bring you back peacefully OR I'll take you down right here". I groan and say, "Im not leaving with you". Lonnie cackles and lifts her hand up and says, "Oh really? Then say goodbye to Brightmoon". The tanks start back up and the troops get ready to start shooting.

My eyes widen and Sparkles yells, "Catra! Now's the time to use your plan!". I look around and yell, "Wait! Wait! How about a compromise?". Lonnie puts her hand down and raises a brow and asks, "a compromise?". I nod and put my hands up, "You, Me, we have a duel. If you win, I go with you willingly. If I win, you have to leave this place. Never set foot on Rebellion grounds again. And join the rebellion to fight against Horde Prime". Lonnie taps her finger to her chin and says, "Hmm, I like the sound of a duel but lets make it fair here; If I win you come with us, you will stay willingly or we will rein chaos on your little Rebellion friends. We kill Adora right in front of you. If you win, we will never come back here again. We will join the rebellion against Horde Prime. Im in charge since you killed Hordak. Entrapta wont be happy by the way". I growl and say, "Fine! You come down here Lonnie. Make this duel fair. You get your tanks and troops away from here and I'll make sure the princesses and archer boy are back in the castle".

Lonnie nods and snaps her fingers together, soon the tanks turned around along with the troops and they retreated. I look behind me at Sparkles, Lover Boy, Planty, and Frosty before I heard someone familiar yelling my name. "Catra! Dont do it!", I hear Adora yell as she runs towards me. I sigh and say, "What are you doing here? I told you to trust me and stay back". Adora scoffs and slaps the back of my head saying frustratedly, " yeah! You told the guard to try and prick me with Scorpia's paralytic thingy". I sigh and rub the back of my head saying, "You have to go". Adora looks at me angrily, "What are you planning on doing Catra?". I take her hands in mine and look her in the eyes, "Adora please, I have to do this. I caused enough harm towards Etheria. Now its time for me to try and be good".

Adora's eyes start to fill up with tears and she says shakily, "Y-You dont have to sacrifice yourself! Dont do this! W-We can figure things out. P-Please dont leave with them". I smile and wipe the tears falling from her eyes and put our foreheads together, "Adora, this goodbye isn't permanent. I need to do this. Its for the best.", I say quietly and moderately so only she could hear me. I dig a dart that had a bit of Scorpia's paralytic that I hid in my back pocket out and pricked her hip. I picked her up in my arms before she hit the ground. "W-What d-did you do?!", Adora says wobbly looking me in the eyes. I walk over to Lover Boy with Adora in my arms and say, "Watch over her Bow. Make sure she doesnt come after me". Lover Boy nods and takes Adora from me and says, "Ok. And thank you Catra".

I nod and say, "Its whatever, now go! Go back inside. Make sure everyone is safe". He nods and the princesses retreat. It was only Lonnie and I. "That was cute. You know the little 'Oh I must be good now' bullshit. We both know you're a monster. A savage. A cruel, ruthless, bloody hungry, emotionless monster. We both know you dont belong with those sparkly folks. We both know you dont deserve Adora. Or her time". Lonnie says as she looks down at her fingers, circling me. I growl and say, "You're right. I am a monster. And thats why you'll be dead in a couple of seconds". We circled each other, waiting for one of each other to start the attack.

I saw by the way that Lonnie's feet were positioned she was becoming impatient and as I called, Lonnie lunged at me. I bent backwards dodging her attack making her hit the water. I chuckle and regain my previous position and say, "You're still predictable as ever". Lonnie growls and puts her fists up and continues circling me. She lunges at me again, swinging her fists and feet in crazed frustration. I smirked and dodged every attack she had on me with my hand, forearm, and legs and arms. She was already tired before I decided to turn the turf of this duel and go on the offense instead of the defense. I attacked her with accurate and precise punches, all of my hits hit her perfectly and she was on one knee, holding her sides and panting. I jump up in the air, doing a 180° flip and taking my claws out before scratching all of her limbs up.

At this point she looked like hell and she stood up. I smirk and say, "Looks like you're going to have to join the Rebe-", The air was knocked out of my lungs when Lonnie struck me in the chest with a stun baton before she stuck a stun bomb on my torso. I groan before the stun bomb went off and sent me flying away from Lonnie towards the deeper parts of the water that surrounded the Brightmoon Castle. I hit the water with a loud splash, I felt myself slipping into unconsciousness as I felt my limbs become limp, and I sunk deeper and deeper into the water. Im sorry Adora.
