Hardships

The Royal Ball (pt 2 of 2)

The crew arrived at the Royal palace that was lit up like the Fourth of July. Catra's eyes were wide as she stepped out of the car along with Colossus, Adora, Crystela, Glimmer, and Bow.

"Oi move slow poke", Bow says kicking Catra in the back. Catra growls whirling around and pointing a warning finger at Bow and moved to the side to ogle the building again. Adora gasps and smacks the boy upside the head and scolds, "Leave her alone Bow". Glimmer chuckled, rolling her eyes and smacking her fiancée upside the head aswell.

"Ow! What the Fuck!", Bow exclaims rubbing the back of his head. Catra chuckles and says, "Karma my friend". Bow rolled his eyes and flicked the feline off. Adora chuckled and approached her fiancée putting a hand on her shoulder. Catra smiled, looking down at Adora and interlaced their fingers together and said, "You ready my love?". Adora nodded and said, "Born ready babe".

Catra chuckled, wrapping her arm around the girl's shoulders and walked behind the rest of the crew. The guard in front of the door stopped them and asked firmly, "Name please?". Catra nodded and said, "Im Catra and this is Princess Adora". The man's eyes widened and he immediately got on his knees and bowed down desperately.

Catra looked at Adora questioningly, Adora only shrugged. "Uhm.. sir? Y-You dont have to do that", Catra says patting the mans back. The man nodded and stood up shakily, taking the feline's hand and shaking it. "I-Im so sorry m-my lord. B-But Im so so glad th-that you're back. My name is Ron. We needed a glimpse of hope. S-Say arent you preforming tonight?".

Catra's eyes widened and she asked, "W-What? I wasnt aware". Ron quirked a brow and said, "Oh well, now you know. I believe it was the Great General Iroh who recommended you for all the performances". Catra nodded and said, "Ok thank you Ron, have a nice night". Ron nodded quickly and let the couple pass.

The ball room was beautiful, thousands and thousands of people dancing and talking. Adora and Catra stood in awe before there was a hand on Catra's shoulder that took them both by surprise. "I see why they need you to preform this music is bland as crap", Adora says amusedly squeezing the feline's nervous hand. Catra chuckled and looked at Adora and said, "Im not all that good at preforming especially with all these people". Adora went to say something when a hand was put on both of their shoulders. To their surprise it was Iroh who looked pretty good he was dressed in a black tuxedo and a red bow.

"Oi! You two are late!", Iroh scolds in a disappointed father stance. Catra gawked and scoffed, "I didn't know I was the one preforming all night!". Iroh flicked the girl's nose and said, "Well you better get your ass on that stage bec-". Before Iroh could finish a bright light shone on them as a familiar voice announced, " Its our guest of honor and preformer! Catrina of Taros! Come up here kiddo and show us what you got".

Catra was frozen in place as she looked at Adora and her fiancée only nodded and pressed a kiss to her lips and whispered, "Go blow this whole room's minds baby. I'll be ok". With that, Catra had the confidence to turn and get on the stage. There were cheers and applaud everywhere as soon as she stepped up. Catra had the attention of the entire ball room, but she could only see the few people upfront in the stage. She narrowed her eyes and searched the ball room, grinning when she found the group of people she needed to find.

Glimmer was smiling with a thumbs up, Bow was cheering while throwing his fist up like an idiot, Colossus had a makeshift smirk on his face as he raised the cup in his hand, Crystela smiled and nodded, while Adora was cheering her lover on like her life depended on it. Iroh stood by Adora like a proud father and nodded encouragingly.

You've got this Catra, just sing what you've got on your mind. Catra took a deep breathe before she approached the microphone stand taking the microphone in her hand and saying, "H-Hello everyone... I-Im Catra but you all probably know that- heh- uh this song im going to preform is called Cough Syrup.. heh uh please enjoy". The people just started cheering louder ad Catra turned to the band behind her and told them what she needed.
