Yesterday, July 13th 2020, The Ventura Sheriff Dept. found a body in Lake Piru. The search for Naya Rivera started after people reported seeing a pontoon boat in the middle of the lake.
On the boat, Josey Dorsey, son of Naya Rivera. Who is only 4 years old was found by himself, in a life vest sleeping. His mother, Naya Rivera, and him went to Lake Piru to go boating and have fun.
Thats when tragedy struck, approximately 3 hours after Rivera rented the pontoon boat officials say they found Josey by himself. They reported this as a missing persons and started the search for Naya.
The search continued in the water after divers and cadaver dogs didnt find traces of Naya's body in the water. They then started searching the shores and the land around them. Searching cabins to no avail. They interviewed Josey. Josey states, "Mommy and I went swimming but mommy never came back".
After a couple of days they found Naya's phone on the boat. They found a picture that Naya sent out to her family of Josey 90 minutes before she disappeared. The picture seemed to be at a cove. Officals searched the cove when they discovered it.

Unfortunately, they have confirmed it to be Naya. Josey recalls being helped up onto the boat and looking back to see that his mom had disappeared. Naya had mustered enough energy to put her son back on the boat but not enough to save herself. They found her body floating towards the shore yesterday, July 13th which marks 7 years since Cory Monteith's death in 2013. —————————————————————— I cannot express how much pain im feeling right now. Never have I felt so much pain. Shed so many tears over somebody I havent met personally but yet here I am. My heart hurts for Naya's family, ex-castmates, and friends. Naya was an incredibly strong, strong-willed, beautiful, intelligent, and Just viscously talented young woman. Her role as Santana Lopez on the show Glee helped me through the darkest time of my life. Naya showed me that its alright to be proud of yourself. To love yourself. No matter what anyone says about you. No matter what color your skin is or your sexual preference. Her snark. Her beastly remarks. Her laugh. Her angelic smile. I'll miss them all deeply. Hell, im smiling and crying my ass off writing this now. I know for a fact that Naya's spirit wrapped itself around her baby boy and cooed him to sleep. Even in her last moments of life, Naya was an amazing mother. She loved Josey with all of her soul, and that's evident. A mother's love has no limit and Naya was proof of that.
I broke down when I saw the news, and even now I cant hold back the tears that are falling from my eyes. Naya was a big role model for me. She helped me reveal a part of myself that I was ashamed of before. She helped me come out. I will never ever forget the laughs she got out of me. Instead of remembering her as Santana Lopez of Glee, let's remember her as Naya Rivera: Amazing mother, beautiful daughter, extremely talented actress, kind sister and friend. My condolences and prayers go out to the Rivera family and her friends.
Rest easy you beautiful angel, I know that us gleeks will make sure to keep your legacy alive so your baby boy knows how much of a hero his mother was.
