A Lover's Quarrel

Adora dragged Catra in their room, slamming the door and locking it. Catra sighs and sits down on their bed, running a hand through her hair. "Listen, Baby.. before you st-", Catra starts before Adora whirled around her face dark, anger written all over her face. Catra's eyes widened in fear and she shut up quickly.

"Dont 'baby' me... Catra", Adora says menacingly walking towards the girl on the bed with precision and poise despite her emotional state. Catra gulped when Adora stood right in front of her, towering the feline. "Where you really going to leave..? And the bargain... where you EVER going to tell me?", Adora scolds, her voice wavering the sadness and anger evident in her voice.

Catra's eyes softened and she  stands up and goes to put her hand on Adora's only for the girl to shake her head and slap her hand away, whirling around so Catra was facing her back. "Answer. The. Question.", Adora says clenching her fists, frustration running through her veins. Her patience running thin. Catra sighs and lets her head drop guiltily.

"No"

Adora sighed shakily and she asked softly, "Why not?". Catra felt like she was punched in the gut with how sad her girlfriend sounded. "Baby-", Adora grunts and Catra winces and continues, "Adora, please understand that this is something I have to go through alone. I cant bring anyone with me... for a reason. If you, Bow, or Glimmer come with me im afraid that Kade will take you guys away from me, like he did to my mother and father. He will murder everyone. Everyone I care about to prove a point. I cant lose you. I cant lose Bow or Glimmer. Thats why I didn't tell anyone. Bow only knows because he was there".

Adora growls and turns on her heel to face Catra. Catra gasps at the tears that were running down her cheeks and she took her feline lover by surprise by grabbing the collar of her shirt and shaking the cat angrily and yells frustratedly, "DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE RISKS YOU'RE PUTTING YOURSELF THROUGH?! HOW RECKLESS AND STUPID THIS IS?! WHO SAYS YOU HAVE TO DO THIS ALONE? HUH?! TELL ME NOW SO I KNOW IM NOT WASTING MY FRUSTRATION. WHAT GOOD WILL YOU BE IF YOU'RE DEAD?! HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU CAN TRUST HIM?! THAT'LL KEEP HIS WORD? YOU SAID HE'D KILL ANYONE TO PROVE A POINT... RIGHT?! Y-You- I-". Adora's chin trembled, tears racing down her cheeks letting her head fall defeatedly.

Catra stepped forward and wrapped her arms around Adora's arms, fighting against a thrashing Adora before the girl gave in and let Catra hug her. "I-I dont wanna lose you C-Catra", Adora mumbles softly against her lover's shoulder. Her tears soaking the soft fabric of her shirt. Catra nods and runs a soothing hand up and down Adora's back, as the girl let out all her emotions into Catra's shoulder. After Adora dried her tears with a sniffle, Catra pulled back getting on one knee and took Adora's hand in hers looking her lover in the eyes.

Cerulean and Mismatched eyes meet and Catra presses her lips to Adora's hand lovingly. "Listen to me my love", Catra says slowly making sure that Adora was looking at her. " You wont lose me ok? I'll make sure of it. I will defeat Kade. Take the throne and deliver peace back to Taron. But in order to do that I need to train. To get better. Stronger. I need to go to Taron. I need to find the person who trained my father, so they can train me. I know I messed up not telling you and for that I apologize. I dont like to see you cry baby. I hate it in fact... but what I hate the most is the fact that I made you cry. Im sorry Adora, truly I am", Catra says meaningfully never averting her attention to anything else other than the girl in front of her. Adora nods and says, "Im sorry for yelling at you Catra, it just hurt that you kept something so serious and important from me. It made me frustrated and angry and I know you had a good reason for keeping it from me, but I got scared and acted out. Im sorry too".
