"I don't know, Magic Vibes Hangout? Doesn't sound quite exciting."
"Trust me, (y/n). You'll have fun. If you don't want to go alone, we'll go on Friday together."
"No, that's okay. I'm bored as hell and I could use a drink."
"Well alright. I'm really sorry about not being able to give you a proper welcoming."
"Nicole, don't worry about it. You have an early morning. I don't want you getting in trouble because of me."
"Okay, okay. Have fun! Call me for any reason. Love you and I'll see you soon."
The two of you hang up and you begin to get read to go out to the bar. It was during the week and you weren't looking to hook up with someone so you just put on something decent enough

Meeting Katie in the bar that Nicole recommended had been complete coincidence. Katie had recognized you from one of Nicole's pictures and you recognized from the few episodes that you had seen to support your best friend. The two of you had sat together and spent the majority of the time getting to know each other.
You covered your mouth to keep yourself from spitting out the drink that you had just taken a sip of. After a few seconds, you were able to calm yourself enough to be able to actually drink it without spitting it out.
Katie watches in amusement at your struggle.
"You okay? Do you need some water?"
You shake your head but Katie still orders a bottle for you to drink from. Not wanting to seem rude, you take a small sip of it.
"Goddamn. I knew, I should've waited until you finished telling me your story. You should've warned me."
"In my defense, I didn't think it would get a reaction out of you like that but I'm glad. It was kind of funny."
You sarcastically laugh before finishing the rest of your drink.
"I could've chocked."
You deadpanned. Katie laughs and shakes her head. She gets a text message, grabbing her attention for a second as she checks it and realizes how late it was.
"But you didn't. Hey, it's getting kind of late and they're closing soon. Do you maybe want to come over to my place?"
"Well, you already bought me a drink first. Lets go."
Katie rolls her eyes and playfully hits your shoulder.
"So we could continue our conversation! Get your mind out of the gutter."
You give her an innocent smile as you pay for the tabs. She had mentioned paying for you but you weren't going to let her do so. It was just meant to be a distraction so you could pay for her.
