"Mom, please! I can't help who I love. She's my everything."
Your mom glares at you, gone was the loving mother that had made you breakfast in the morning. In place, stood a woman full of hatred and anger.
"I'm not your mother! I stopped being your mother the moment you betrayed this family. You were supposed to get married in a few weeks! Instead, I find you hooking up with your 'friend' in your bedroom. Get out! Get out of my house!"
You tried holding back your tears but it was impossible to do so. You loved your mother and to lose her in a matter of seconds because of who you loved hurt so much. Even worse was that the girl you had fallen in love with had ran off and left you alone to deal with the wrath of your mom. It hurt so much to think that she had lied and said that she would be with you no matter what.
"Please, mom. I love you. Please don't kick me out!"
You begged. Your mother walks to you, taking ahold of your chin with her fingers and forces you to look up at her.
"Will you forget about that silly girl? Marry the man that we promised you to?"
Your silence is all she needs to hear to know that you wouldn't do any of that.
"Leave, (y/n)."
"Mo.."
You reached out for her but she turned around and walked out of your room.
"You have an hour before I call your father and tell him what I found. He'll kill you when he sees you. You should leave if you want to live"
You couldn't stand to be in the same roof as them and didn't bother to pack anything. There was nothing you wanted to keep from them. Climbing out of your window, you headed to your best friend's place to take her on her offer to travel to a planet that took refuges as yourselves.

Arriving to Earth had been hell. The planet was meant for you to find a better way of life but it seemed like the majority of humans hated your kind. You had first witness after trying to help out another refuge that didn't look like a human at all. Keeping them safe from getting beat up was what led you to meet Supergirl. She had stuck around to help the rest of the refuges be aware of the resources that were being built and personally made sure that everyone had found a local shelter.
For some unknown reason to you, Supergirl would often visit you every other night to check up on you. Would always use the excuse to want to let you know about the resources offered but eventually dropped the act when you called her out on it. Turns out, she just wanted to be your friend since she learned that you were all alone.
You were hesitant to be friends with the hero but she proved to be a good friend and a really likable person like the rest of her friends.
Being friends with Kara and the rest of the super friends was how you ended up meeting who you secretly liked to call 'the love of your life,' Sam Arias. You, of course never called her as such as the two of you were just friends but you sure wished you had the courage to tell her how you felt.
