You and Meredith were currently laying down on the couch and cuddling. You were running your fingers through her hair since it helped her relax after such a stressful day at the hospital.
It was quiet at the house since the volume of the TV was low so when you started hearing a soft purr coming from Meredith. You couldn't' believe what you were hearing so you let her continue for a few more seconds to make sure you weren't imagining it.
"Babe, did you just purr?"
"What? No, I didn't."
"Meredith, you just totally purred. I heart you do it for a whole minute straight."
"You must've heard wrong. I didn't purr. Maybe it was the neighbor's cat."
"The neighbor doesn't have a cat."
"Yeah, he does! I saw him the other day."
"Nope, can you please purr again for me baby. It was so cute. I want to hear it again."
Meredith's cheek turned a light shade of pink as you asked for her to make the sound again.
"I didn't purr!"
"Yes, you did! Please just purr again for me. I want to hear it again. It was so cute!"
Meredith groaned loudly and climbed out of the coach as you continued to bother her about the purring.
"I'm going to sleep since you won't leave me alone."
"Baby, come back! You can't blame me for wanting to hear it again. It was cute!"
Meredith flicked you off and walked to your shared bedroom to ignore you. Not wanting to be left behind, you quickly cleaned up what you had eaten and walked to the bedroom, only to find it locked.
"Meredith! Open up!"
You can hear a faint 'no' as you continue knocking on the door.
"Please, baby. I won't ask you to purr for me again."
It's quiet on the other side and you almost think that she's going to ignore you when the door opens the tiniest bit.
"You promise."
You hold up your pinky and then cross your heart."
"Cross my heart and hope to die."
Meredith looks at you suspiciously and then opens the door wider for you to come in.
"You better not bring it up."
"I promise."
The two of you lay down in bed and the lights are then turned off.
It's quiet for a couple of minutes when you decide to disturb.
"Purr for me, kitten."
You whispered with a laugh. Meredith isn't taking your shit today as she uses her foot to kick you out of the bed.
"Ow! What the hell!"
"I told you not to bring it up and what did you do? You brought it up. Don't test me."
You stood up, rubbing your ass as it still hurt from the fall.
"Okay, okay. You win. I won't ask you again."
