Emily
As promised, when I closed my eyes that night, Dom was waiting for me. I pushed myself out of the bed and walked over to him, he was grinning ear to ear. "To what would I owe the pleasure Mr dream walker Alpha?" He was practically bouncing up and down he was so excited. "I have a surprise for you." I eyed him suspiciously, "a dream realm surprise or a dream world surprise?" He stopped bouncing and grabbed onto my hand, "dream realm and we have to go like right now!"
Without another chance to question him, he started to create his portal, I created the mental rope link in my head, I still wasn't too experienced with dream walking and I always needed to make sure I could get back. I never again wanted to experience the weird room I'd fallen into before. Once I made sure it was secure, I started to make a portal of my own, the black swirling mist was deep and dark as it pulled me closer. I looked over at Dom, he was grinning ear to ear, "ready?" I smirked at him and leaned forward on my toes, "race you." I told him, before running head first into the black abyss.
When I came out of the other side I was filled with triumph, that was until I crashed head first into a hard wall straight in front of me. I blinked up seeing stars, it took me a moment to realise these weren't a figment of my imagination and they were actually the stars of the dream realm sky. I pushed against the wall and heard a grunt, in all of my dizzy confusion, I hadn't realised that the wall wasn't a wall at all, it was soft and squishy in places. "Are you going to stand around and touch me inappropriately all day, little varg?" Came Dom's amused voice.
I straightened up instantly and started to blush, he caught on before I could hide it. "Aw is my little varg embarrassed about feeling me up?" He was laughing like a hyena. I pushed him to the side, "I'm starting to think this is less of surprise from me, and more of a chance for you to make fun of me." He smiled and draped his arm over my shoulder, "I'll tell you a secret," he leaned in, "it's a little bit of both."
This made me smile, he really had made me feel better these past weeks. Being around him was great, he was like a constant beacon of light when nights felt the darkest. I knew it wasn't fair of me to lean on him, especially when he was an alpha plenty of things to be busy with? But he made me feel so safe. The further into the dream realm we walked, the more I was getting lost. "I have no idea where we are anymore." I told him honestly.
"It's okay, we're almost there," he told me gently, his eyes focused on the doors around us. I didn't know what he was looking for specifically, but I knew that the only thing we could find in the dream realm were other people's dreams. Were we going to be visiting someone? "Are we on a job?" I asked Dom, who was smirking to himself. Whatever he'd seen he seemed to find enjoyable, though I looked around frantically and I couldn't see anything.
"Okay you're going to have to tell me what's going on here because I have no idea." I told him stone faced. He held out a hand, gesturing towards a wall, "there," He pointed. I looked at the wall but I couldn't see anything. I turned to him annoyed, "Are you playing with me?" He rolled his eyes and walked me closer to the wall, "you're eyesight must be terrible." The closer we got to the wall, the more I noticed that it was growing in depth. There wasn't just one wall, there were three, two at the front with a big space in the middle where the third wall was pushed slightly back. Enough space, I realised, for a person to get around. It was a hidden passage.
"What's this lead to?" I asked him, confused. I thought that this was all that there was to the dream realm. I didn't realise there were different sections to it. "Why don't you go around the walls and see?" He questioned, a huge grin on his lips. I took a deep breath in, unsure of what I was about to discover, and walked through the gaps. Dom followed close behind, the light seemed to change on the walls and instead of bright light from the stars, a low glowing yellow started to illuminate the space.
It wasn't long before I realised this was a room, I didn't even know that the dream realm could have rooms. The more and more I learnt about this place, the more confusing it seemed to get. I turned the corner down a little corridor and was met with a gigantic library. Books filled the shelves from top to bottom and there appeared to be three floors. THREE FLOORS. How was this even possible?
I turned around, circling Dom in awe. He was watching for my reaction, he looked worried. "Do you like it?" I stopped and looked up at him, "how can this exist? It's beautiful." The shelves were a dark mahogany and the library was stuffed with shelves on every floor, there was hardly any space to walk.
"I know you liked going to the library in your old pack," at the mention of my old home my heart sank, but I quickly looked past it. "I'm having one built in the Rising Dawn pack, but this should suffice for now." I looked at the walls of books, yes. I could be very happy here. "Is this yours?" I asked him. He shook his head, "I have no idea if this actually belongs to anyone, but it's full of everything that everyone who has a door in the dream realm, has ever read." He looked around with me, "I suppose you could say that it's the hub of all information."
I ran in the middle of the book shelves and picked a random one, I looked through all of the books excitedly, there was everything here. From normal books to scripts written in a strange language, this place seemed to have everything. I turned to find Dom, I hadn't even thanked him for showing me yet. Instead, I bumped into the alpha I was looking for. "Pardon you," he said with a heart warming laugh.
How could anyone not melt in his presence. Instead of moving to the side, Dom pushed me gently back towards the shelves. The beating of my heart went into overdrive at the feel of his skin against mine. "It's so good to see you enjoying yourself, little varg." His body pressed against mine, I licked my dry lips. "I was starting to wonder if I would ever see that beautiful smile again. Not the fake one you put on for everyone else," he leaned against the shelf and looked down at me, "the one reserved for me."
