Dominick
My hands were moving over her slim body, grasping at every part of her skin that I could. She replied by moving her hands lower and lower. There were no words, there was no need for words, we had both known that this was inevitable. I groped at her breasts, finally comforted in knowing that this is what she wanted too.
We were so lost in the moment, our minds clouded by heat and need, that we both jumped as a loud sound crashed outside the tent. We looked at each other, neither of us sure what to do. I was so turned on that I couldn't even think past anything but her. I broke the contact reluctantly and opened the flip to see what was going on. Malik was walking around, heading straight for the woods. I hung my head and turned to face Emily, "Malik is sleep walking. I need to get him before he gets lost or gets killed."
Emily slowly lifted her jumper from the floor and held it against her body, "I understand, you do what you need to." I turned back to go towards Malik but paused at the opening, I didn't want to leave her here. I wanted to carry on and selfishly, I didn't want to give her a chance to sleep it off and never consider it again. "Are you too tired, or do you want to come with me?" I asked her, hopeful but not stupid. She'd been through a lot of the past few days and travelling was going to be hard for her anyway when she'd been sheltered for most of her life.
Her eyes lit up and a smile spread across her face, "let's go get him." She started to put her clothes back on but I held out a hand stopping her, "we're going to need to shift." She didn't need any more instructions, she ran from the tent and by the time I'd chased after her, a beautiful white wolf was sitting near the woods waiting. My bones started to crack and dislocate, my wolf was awakening from his slumber and he was happy about it.
With the last crack of the bones in my spine, I landed on all four of my paws. Emily's wolf was staring at me, "You're beautiful." My wolf told her through the mind link, fully abusing his privileges already. The white wolf cocked her head to the side, her ears adjusting, and then the most beautiful voice we had ever heard before gave us a reply. Her jaw didn't move, but a caressing touch against the walls of my mind made me very aware of who I was dealing with. "Alpha Dominick, a pleasure to finally make your acquaintance."
My wolf gave her a toothy grin, "the pleasure is all mine, little varg." Without another word, they bolted off towards the scent of Malik, it was easier considering none of us had been given a chance to properly wash since arriving in Sweden. My nose picked up his scent near the rock formation that I'd searched through for dry wood earlier. What was he doing going out this far? I quickly opened up the mindlink to Emily again. "I don't know what he's doing this far out and I don't particularly trust it. You're free to stay with me, but I don't know anything about the creatures that live here and you'd be putting yourself at risk."
Her response was lighting fast. "Are you going to stay to look for him?" My wolf stayed silent, Emily wasn't finished, "that's what I thought. He's my family too Dom." There was no arguing with her, I enjoyed her company, I just didn't want her to get hurt. I cared far more about her than I even cared for myself.
We ran a little further until we came to a huge stone wall. His scent had gone missing here. I searched around the trees and pressed my nose right up to the snow, but his scent had completely vanished. Emily's wolf whined into the cold air, I knew she was just as upset as I was. She opened the mind link, "What do we do now?" My wolf spun around, desperately looking through the dark to see any trace of my beta. A biting wind blew into my ears and I looked up to save them from the onslaught of windswept snow. "I don't know, I think w-" I cut myself short, sniffing up into the air.
There was a body climbing up the rock wall. I sniffed again, angling towards the person. That wasn't just any body, that was Malik's stupid ass. It was about a 100 foot drop, what the hell was he doing up there? I motioned my head towards the face of the rock and Emily's eyes followed mine. She whined out into the night when she saw him and instantly tried to scale the wall. It was no use, her claws wouldn't dig deep enough to get up. We watched helplessly as his body disappeared about half way up the wall. Where the hell had he gone to now?
I knew exactly what we had to do, I shifted back, completely naked and freezing around the breeze. Emily followed suit, already sensing my plan. She was holding herself, trying desperately to stop the shaking. "The quicker we get up there and figure out where he went, the quicker we can get warm and out of this mess." She nodded, not trusting her voice right now. I couldn't blame her, my teeth were already chattering. I helped her to start climbing, making sure to direct her on the easiest path to get over the slopes and sharp edges. Then it was my turn.
I was right behind her, keeping up a steady pace just in case she was to slip and need support. We made it as far as we'd seen Malik and suddenly understood where he'd gone. There was a cave and it looked out across the span of the frozen land beneath us. I had no idea why he climbed to this specific spot, but I was hoping that he was okay. I didn't even realise people could sleepwalk like this. I pushed Emily over the ledge and gripped hard to pull myself up.
I'd found a good hold and swung my legs over, just as I was about to crawl further into the cave, my foot slipped on an icy piece of rock, it ended up crumbling part of the wall with it and I slid, unable to stop. I gasped as my body rolled over the edge of the ledge.
This was it.
I'd failed.
This was the end and I hadn't even managed to help Malik.
Goodbye Emily...
