"How long does it take to make popcorn?" Jack whined from his seat while I opened the door to my room. I rolled my eyes and dropped a juice box on his head. He rubbed the top of his head and glared at me; I laughed and shook my head.

"I think you forgot that you're the one who wanted a drink," Ihanded out the rest of the boxes in my hand. "We really don't drink soda too frequently, sorry guys."

"Juice boxes remind me of being a little kid," Kara smiled from the love seat, sitting close to Rian. She stuffed the straw into the box and began to drink. I smiled and shrugged. I couldn't remember the last time we didn't have juice boxes.

"Your room is fucking sick," Zack smiled, flipping through the channels. I grinned back and felt my ears heat up.

"Thanks. It's my dad's way of trying to make up for moving," I sighed while sitting in front of the couch. Zack, Jack and Alex took up most of the space on the couch. It didn't bother me, though. I didn't mind sitting on the ground.

I leaned my back against Alex's legs and smiled at him. He grinned back and started moving his legs obnoxiously. I groaned and giggled, slapping his leg. He tugged on my hair teasingly, and I grabbed his hand pushing it away.

Snaging the remote from Zack's lazy grip, I brought up the On Demand channels, looking through the movie choices that we could buy. Rian and Jack argued over Little Miss Sunshine and The Departed. Jack was slightly upset when we decided against his comedy to watch Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio beat the crap out of each other. I entered the code to order th emovie and passed around the popcorn, all of us eating it before the movie even started.

The Departed was my favorite movie, but halfway through the first scene, I realized that I wasn't in the mood for the movie. I glanced around briefly, looking at everyone. Rian, Jack, Kara and Zack all seemed into it, even after Jack's protest for the first few minutes. I felt Alex's foot dig into my side, jokngly. I looked at him, his eyes still focused on the movie, but he was wearing a smirk that was directed towards me.

I moved my elbow into his calf, and moments later he hit me again. This game continued for almost twenty minutes, and every time it got a little funnier. I wasn't sure why, either. It wasn't really that hilarious, but for some reason it was taking my whole strength not to burst out in the middle of silence. I leaned the side of my temple against his knee, closing my eyes and smiling while we hit each other.

I felt my phone vibrate in my jeans, and pulled it out quickly and swiped it open to an unknown number. My eyebrows pulled together in confusion before opening the message.

When I gave you my number, I thought you were going to text me. I didn't think I' dhave to hunt you down and break the ice myself!

I stared at my phone for a few long seconds before texting back.

        Uh, who is this?

I set my phone on my lap, and went back to playing this game with Alex. I was just about to elbow his leg again when my phone went off. I opened the message.

I feel sort of insulted. It's Adam.

I felt my heart speed up, and a grin appeared on my mouth. I typed back vigorously.

Oh crap, I'm sorry, Adam. I was going to text you, but then I lost your number!

        That's a very lame excuse, Stella :p

I swear, I didn't want to ask for it again. I felt like an idiot.

You felt like an idiot? I've been anticipating a text, and felt like an idiot trying to find your number. You definitely know how to keep yourself hidden.

It's not intentional, but coincidental. I promise, I wanted to text you (:

I think I believe you, but I'm not exactly sure.

Alex hit my leg again, almost to remind me that we were in the middle of an argument. I laughed silently and hit him back. I could hear a husky chuckle excape his lips, and I looked over my shoulder at him. This time he was looking at me. I took the time to notice that Zack and Jack were sleeping quietly on either side of Alex. Jack was slumped against the arm of the couch, and Zack was leaning against the other. I giggled at them and glanced back at Alex.

"Who're you texting?" Alex asked curiously. I hadn't thought about how annoying the light must have been. I sort of felt bad.

"Adam," I whispered back with a grin. He nodded, lips falling into a straight line. He focused his attention back on the movie, and I went back to texting.

Well, what will make you believe me?

How about you come hang out with me this weekend?

I felt myself freeze suddenly. I had never been on a date before; did he think that's what it was? Because I wasn't sure if I minded or not. I mean, I knew how to talk to boys, how to flirt. That only got me so far. This kid who barely knows me wants to go on a date.

        Like a date?

        Yeah, something like that.

I cleared my throat to myself, thinking about it momentarily. What did I even think about that? Adam was really cute, and seemed nice. I didn't know him that well, why does he want to go on a date with me? But I hadn't ever done anything like this before. Who cares if it doesn't work out, at least I gave it a shot, right?

        Sure, why not.

Alright, I'll text you this weekend with details. See you soon, Stella.

        You too, Adam.

I smiled to myself as I sent the last text, and I realized that the movie was over. The credits were rolling up the screen, and everyone was stretching in their seats and standing up slowly.

I felt Alex's legs move underneath me quickly, and he was out the door within two seconds. He slammed the door shut, and everyone was looking in confusion, not understanding why he was out in such a rush.

In my head I had concluded that it was because he needed to go home for something and pushed any other idea out of my mind completely.
