Taking Over

The moon was an illuminating source of light for Indra and I in this eerie night as we had finished training together.

"I'm beat," I groaned as I plopped myself down on the grass. I undid my ponytail and let loose my long (h/c) hair which ran freely down my back and over my shoulder.

"I'm glad you managed to get a hang of your new jutsu. There's still more to teach you," he extended his arm out to me and I took his hand and he lifted me up and onto my feet.

"Yeah, it's great that you're teaching me all of this, but you know who could benefit from a little extra training? Ashura."

Indra groaned and rolled his eyes at me, "(Y/n)."

"Oh come on. I know you think Ashura isn't on par with you, but if you really want him to improve then you should let him come. Plus he wants to be with us."

"I understand, but he wasn't gifted with powers the same way I was."

"Neither was I," I shot at him. "What makes Ashura and I different?"

"You're a quick leaner and you already have potential to become strong like me. You're a (L/n). I want to keep you under my wing to help me for when I become successor."

"Thanks, that's great and all, but I really think Ashura has potential to-"

"Am I interrupting you two lovebirds?" Chuckled an ominous childlike male voice and we immediately snapped our head in the direction of that voice.

Standing on top of a wooden log, was the same small figure I saw last time. It was wearing a light purple kimono and wore a straw hat that covered the entirely of its face expect for its yellow eyes.

"What the hell do you want?" Growled Indra.

"It's been awhile, hasn't it?" He eerily said. "I see you've gotten use to those eyes."

Indra was taken aback at first before he glared at him.

"Don't glare at me like that. You should show me some gratitude at least."

"Why should he be grateful to you?" I asked.

"Well I'm the one who awakened them."

"You or us? Ashura and I were the ones in danger. If something like that happened sooner or later without your help, he would've awakened them," I retaliated.

"It's not that simple. He has to lose one of you. That wasn't going to happen especially during these times of peace."

"You tried killing us, all so he could those eyes! You're crazy!" I exclaimed.

"I'm here to help. Indra, do you see the future of Ninshu with those eyes? Or your dreams. I'm sure you've sensed that you're special. That you have the power to change the future of Ninshu. You have overwhelming power. You've inherited most of Hagoromo's power. Ashura can't hold a candle to you," he grinned and appeared right in front of Indra's face before it disappeared and a powerful gust of win blew in our face.

"In time, your power will rival that of your father. No one will be able to compete with you," it echoed through the forest and the gust of wind began to die down.

"Indra, I don't think this should be kept from your father anymore. I let it slide when we were kids, but it can't keep coming back."

"This is my business. I'll be the one to decide whether I tell him or not."

~The Next Day~

Something about last night stirred something in Indra.

Indra showed no mercy whatsoever to the men we trained with and ruthlessly knocked a few of them down.

"Next!"

We all remained silent as we stared at the fallen men who had been beaten before glancing back at Indra whose eyes scanned over our faces.

"What's the matter? Isn't anyone willing to face me?"

"Does it look like they want to? You've instilled fear in them!" I shouted at him.

"They need to get back up and fight or else they're weak."

"I'll face you then," I stepped up. Even though I spar with him all the time, he needs to be shown that he isn't the only tough one around here.

"(Y/n), we already know the outcome. If we face each other, it won't be much different than our usual training sessions."

"I won't show mercy," I firmly stated. "Just like how you didn't show them any mercy, I won't either."

Indra sighed and positioned himself into a fighting stance and he flashed his Sharingan. "Then we'll fight."

'He has an advantage with the Sharingan, but I'll have to do what I can.'

I made the first move on him and from there it was an endless series of punches and kicks. Our fight had lasted for twenty minutes until he dodged my chakra enhanced foot that had some wind embedded into it and ultimately grabbed ahold of my thigh and threw me down to the ground with his foot lightly on top of my back.

"Anyone else? He asked and when he saw that no one else was willing to volunteer, he scoffed and murmured under his breath, "Such cowards."

He turned his back towards everyone and walked out of the training room. I gritted my teeth at him and immediately got back up on my feet and followed after him.

"Indra!"

I jogged down the stairs and dashed right in front of him.

"What's wrong with you?" I asked. "You weren't like this yesterday."

"Don't expect everything to remain the same." He walked around me and I remained standing in my place as I turned around to face his retreating figure.

"Why are you acting like this? Is it because of that thing we saw-" but Indra turned around and clamped his hand over my mouth and I slightly glared at him all while removing his hand from my mouth.

"Do not silence me!" I raised my voice as I fiercely glared at him.

Indra slightly widened his eyes and his eyes traveled to Ashura, who stood outside on the balcony of the training area.

"Elder brother.... what is (Y/n) talking about?"

"She's speaking nonsense."

"I'm speaking nonsense?! You let this Sharingan of yours turn you into something you're not! And that thing isn't helping either!" I furiously screamed at him.

"Elder brother, you said you'd think it over! You didn't need to be rough with those men!"

"Ashura, you don't have the Sharingan so you wouldn't understand. Power is what rules the world. Power maintains order. In time, I will take over Ninshu and fulfill my dream."

Ashura seemed slightly frightened by the drastic change in Indra and remained frozen in place as his older brother walked away from us.

I turned to Ashura and I shrugged my shoulders, clueless as to what Indra had last said.

'What could this dream of his be?'
