"Please rise, Itachi Uchiha," stated Hagoromo who levitated before a kneeled Itachi.

"It is an honor to meet you," rose Itachi to his feet and was in an empty unknown place where everything around him was painted in a marble color.

"I'm sure you're curious to know why I summoned you here."

"Yes."

"Are you satisfied with the way things ended? Are you satisfied with the way you lived?"

"I gladly put my life on the line for the sake of my family and the village. Although, I do have some regrets..." trailed off Itachi.

"I suppose your regrets are the massacre of your clan, leaving Sasuke behind and hurting (Y/n). Am I right?"

"Yes..."

"...With everything you've done, I suppose I can help you have another chance," said Hagoromo as he stroked his beard.

"Pardon? What do you mean?" Asked Itachi.

"You and (Y/n) will meet again in the future, but she'll have no recollection of who you are."

"She won't remember me at all?" A pain struck his chest and he sighed in defeat knowing he wasn't going to be given another chance with (Y/n) so easily.

"Will she ever remember me?" Asked Itachi, but his hopes were crushed when he saw Hagoromo solemnly shaking his head.

"It's best if she doesn't remember her past life and her suffering. She's been through enough. But you will retain your memories of her and it is up to you to find her again."

"Thank you. I'll be sure to find her."

"If it's meant to be, your paths will cross and you will find each other again."

~Modern Time~ (Age: 20)

I groggily left my late night history class from the university and honestly, I made the terrible mistake of choosing a night class. I thought it would be able to handle it at first, but now I'm not so sure.

'What was my dumbass thinking when I chose that time?' I sighed.

Tonight's lecture was on the history of shinobi. The topic intrigued me, because I felt drawn to the heroes who defeated a goddess and saved the world and the way they were able to perform jutsus which I found super cool, but I was too tired tonight to stay entirely focused.

I rubbed my eyes and pulled out my phone as I clicked a random social media app and scrolled through it as I walked out of campus and towards the nearby bus station that was ten minutes away. I walked down a brightly lit street that was filled with teenagers and young adults hanging out at restaurants and living their life to the fullest with their groups of friends.

I eased my way through the crowd and I would occasionally look up to make sure I wouldn't bump into anyone or get hit by any nearby cars or trucks when crossing the street.

'Just another five minutes and I'll be there.'

I picked up the pace and while doing so, I bumped someone's shoulder who was walking right past me me and I immediately looked up from my phone and glanced at the stranger and said, "Oh, sorry!"
