Friends or Foes?

Today was the day we were going to be assigned our teams.

While walking to the academy I only hoped that I would be paired up with someone I knew like Naruto. Even Hinata, Shikamaru, or Choji would suffice.

Upon reaching the academy, I noticed that half the seats were already filled up, but there were classmates standing around talking with each other.

"(Y/n), over here!" Waved Naruto and sitting in that row was Sasuke. He glanced my way and I awkwardly smiled at him but he turned his head away and looked out the window.

Naruto moved over a bit and allowed me to sit at the end of the table.

"What are you doing here Naruto, this isn't for dropouts. You can't be here," sighed Shikamaru who took a seat behind us.

"He managed to pass Shikamaru," I informed him and Naruto agreed with me as he was showing off his headband to him.

Other classmates began coming in, but there were two people who made their arrival loud and clear.

"I made it first!" Sakura's and Ino's outburst caught my attention and watched them struggling to step inside the class.

Their love rival competition was hopeless since Sasuke paid no attention to any of his female fangirls. Not even as a kid would he bat an eye their way. There was no point in chasing after him.

"Move it Naruto, (Y/n)!" Urgently said Sakura who managed to grab Naruto's arm that was on top of the table and pull him over it.

I internally glared at her for her unnecessary action and got up which allowed her to slip in and occupy the seat next to her precious Sasuke. I helped Naruto back on his feet, but he stomped over to Sasuke and jumped on top of the table. He crouched ontop of it and was in front of Sasuke, fiercely glaring at him.

Sakura, Ino and the rest of his fangirls were all bickering about Naruto, but what came next left us all speechless.

A boy who was behind Naruto accidentally bumped him which caused Naruto to accidentally fall forward and kiss Sasuke.

My mouth formed an 'o' shape and both my eyebrows were raised as I watched them gag and clean their mouth to remove the touch of their lips.

The girls in our class were furious and started to surround Naruto until I intervened, "It wasn't his fault it was just an accident."

"He stole his first kiss!"

"So? Sasuke wasn't going to give it to one of you anyways," I said to them which didn't help simmer them down. They growled at my blonde haired friend who was behind me. I took a step forward which made them step back.

"You'll have to go through me first if you want to get to him. We don't want a repeat of what happened years ago, right?"

Their faces paled at my words as they remembered how I pummeled our classmate. Shivers ran down their spines and they dispersed to their seats.

Sakura, however, sat herself next to Sasuke with Naruto sitting next to her and then me.

Shikamaru gazed at the back of my head slightly impressed with the way I acted.

'How troublesome (Y/n), always trying to get Naruto out of trouble. What a drag but I admire that caring side of yours.'

Iruka Sensei had walked in and greeted us while we did the same and dived right into what we were waiting for.

"I'll now be assigning you guys to your teams, but due to the unbalanced number of students, one team will have a group of four members."
