~ The Next Day~ (Age:18)

I was sitting at a table that was outside a bakery shop  with a bag of warm steaming bread. An umbrella was shielding me from the sun and I remained sitting down eating away the soft bread while continuously looking around for a certain someone.

But the one I was looking for did not appear.

"Boo!" Shouted Naruto right behind me as he grabbed ahold of my arms and my body immediately went into a fight response. I elbowed the person behind me in the stomach and the groan that escaped his lips made my eyes widen as I recognized the sound of his voice and I sprung up from my seat.

"Naruto! You should know not to sneak up on a shinobi!"

"Right..." he coughed hunched over and rubbed his stomach.

"Sorry about that," I apologized and peered at his pained face, but he caught his breath and stood back up.

"It's okay.... I noticed you looking around. Were you hoping to run into someone?" Asked Naruto with a hint of eagerness and hope in his voice as he wiggled his eyebrows.

"Um... yeah," I awkwardly said as I looked down at my feet feeling a bit embarrassed.

"Oh, so you like someone!" Loudly shouted Naruto and I immediately covered his mouth.

"You don't need to let the whole world know!" I whispered under my breath and had the blonde sit with me.

But hiding near a shop, Sasuke Uchiha overheard the last bit of their conversation with a sinking feeling.

''Does she... like someone else?'

~A Few Days Later~

"So, what are you going to do now that you've served your time?" I asked the Uchiha whom I invited out to grab a bite to eat.

The two of us ended up getting a few onigiri at a local supermarket and we walked around to find a nearby bench and we stumbled upon one that was isolated and under some trees.

"I've decided to leave the village for awhile," said Sasuke as took a bite of his onigiri that contained fish and tomatoes inside of it.

"What? Again?"

"I said leave for awhile not desert the village," he restated.

"But why?" I asked.

"I need time to understand my feelings about how I should view the shinobi world. Perhaps I'll be able to see things I couldn't see before. Things that can't be seen unless I do this."

"You sound so wise, old man," I snorted and he glared at me as he finished up his onigiri. "But when will you be leaving?"

"Tomorrow at noon."

"So soon?" I asked and raised a brow at him and he nodded his head.

"But there's one thing I'm certain of." There was a newfound confidence that oozed off of him as he gazed into my (e/c) eyes.

"And what's that?" I questioned with an amused smile on my lips as I slightly hunched over with my arms resting on my knees.

"Why don't you guess?" He lifted his arm and extended it out to me and it was inching closer and closer to my face until I felt him lightly poke my forehead. "I like you."
